The last book I read was Brisinger, Paolini(author). 800 something page book and read in 3 days.

In the Bible, I started for the whole thing. I'm only halfway through Genisis. I've read Exodus through Joshua alread but I might read those because there my favorite books in the Bible. :kenobi: <Now moses

its not. Its just stating history and going over what fascism is and how it is connected to the left. On this you can not deny it. Go ahead and pick up and read for your self. But its great book.

I'm willing to bet it's about as fact filled as James Carville's book about 40 more years of democratic rule.

Fascism is a right wing idea Josh.

Right=Conservative and traditional
Left=Liberal and progressive

Traditional ideas include typically authoritarian governments and Progressives would fall closer to a communistic or socialistic idea.

Well, the main difference between right and left is that the right is individualistic and the left is collectivist, but you've got the gist of it.

Fascism is when the government exalts a certain number of individuals (say, the Germans) and communism is when the government distributes the wealth as needed among the people.

Libertarian capitalism (right winged anarchism) is when there is very little government and social Darwinism, libertarian socialism (left winged anarchism) is when there is very little government and a collectivist communal mindset.

Those are the basic extremes of far right and far left.

That's not even remotely true. The left is defined by progressiveness and the right is defined by traditionalism. Facism is the marriage of big business and big government, and is closer to centrist than anything else in that it combines the far leftist ideal of government interference with the far right-wing ideal of monopoly. The notion that Fascism is right-wing is a fanciful invention of people who are so far to the left, anything to the right of them looks like it's to the right of center.

You are incorrect there, sir.

Can anyone say "off topic"? :D

Anyway, besides the Bible, I am currently reading several books (I can't read just one at a time). They are as follows: That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis, Lost Scriptures by Bart D. Ehrman, and The Many Gospels of Jesus by Philip W. Comfort and Jason Driesbach. Don't read too much into those last two. I believe the 66 books of the Protestant Bible to be the only inspired (as per 2 Timothy 3:16-17 -- although I do consider the books of the Apocrypha to be good reading and useful for historical information), but I've always been fascinated by the other books that never made it in and why they were never accepted in the canon of Scripture.

That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis

I've tried to read that thing three times and just can't get through it.  I've read the first two, does it really connect to them at all?

I'm currently reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. dork.  Didn't care a whole lot for Scott's movie, but the book is pretty good so far, and makes far more sense.  I'm also about to re-read G. K. Chesterton's The Man Who was Thursday, as I didn't really "get it" when I read it in high school.

Fascism is left-wing, actually. It the other side of the coin of communism. The Nazi were the "Nationalist Socialist Party".
Libertarians are far right wing, but they are like herding cats

We prefer the term "feline individualists."

SK, That Hideous Strength does indeed connect to the other two in the trilogy, but you have to get a good ways into it to find the connection. It's a fantastic read if you can get through how dense the first bit is.
