It shouldn't matter if your opponent plays philistines. Infact, he (and everyone at the table) could be playing defenseless and it is still the best card in the game.

idk i only know one guy who plays philies, which makes davids victory better than that any day!

Eleazar's Sword and David's Sling are the only two green WC enhancements. David's Sling can be nice on either Eleazar or David, as it makes Eleazar 10/3 with CBN First Strike, and it makes David 16/5 with First Strike. But Rawrlolsauce is correct that Eleazar's Sword has proven to be far better.
