Title: Virginians out there?
Post by: findinghaven on May 29, 2013, 11:11:31 PM
Is there anyplace to play in the Hampton Roads, VA area? I am very new to the game, yet I'm already hooked. All known searches are coming up empty though. Local stores do not appear to carry the cards as well. Comic book, cards, and Christian stores have nothing. Am I arriving too late to the scene? I don't want to go back to YuGiOh or Magic TG! :-\ Help??

There used to be a few playgroups in the VA area. My wife and I are near DC (MD side though). We are having our regionals tournament in about two weeks. You can get the information here: http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/official-tournaments/2013-northeast-regionals-bel-air-md-information-and-answers!/

Welcome to the game! You came at just the right time, a new starter is about to come out in the next couple of weeks that you can order as well as other cards and supplies. Feel free to post what kinds of cards you are looking for and you will see multiple people post what they have for sale or trade. What cards do you have so far?

My grandmother is in Newport News. I haven't heard of any playgroups in the area.

Thank you. I would love to go to regionals. Though, being a full time student and single father burns up many possible outings these days. Hopefully that can change soon.
I was about to preorder the new starter. Looks nice. Just have the 3rd ed starter and the gift tin with 10 Ann & a few boosters. Not much. But I'm looking forward to saving up and getting ALL OF THEM. lol. ;D
Are there any places to learn more on the game? Ran into someone explaining it on YouTube. Any recommended sources would be greatly appreciated.

Would you mind linking the video you posted? My friend and I have our own channel on Youtube where we post some Redemption games, and we are working on a new one with the starter decks just released, so if there's other stuff out there, it'd be good to compare with those ones.

Your link didn't work for me, but I have provided the link below of the thread on the boards that have several of their videos (the games are enlightening).

Why yes, I have made the decision to save myself for marriage. Why do you ask?

Wait, what?

Chris, lol. I made that call before. Sometimes I wish I didn't slip from it. Though, with past experience I have learned the value of that promise and have recommited myself to it. Things are so much better when one's focus is not skewed by worldly things.
