time away will be good, I think.

but don't get mad at yourself for not having a perfect deck just yet. it'll be a pretty sweet deck fairly soon, and the fact that people are disputing what to do with it means it's not stereotypical, which is AWESOME.

I spent approximately 1 hr a night for  1 week making my T2 and it was a fail.
I spent approximately 1-2 hrs a night for 1 week making my T2 and it was an epic fail.
I spent approximately 3-4 hrs a night for 3 weeks making my T2 and it was an epic epic fail.
I spent approximately 15 minutes last night for making my T2 and it rocks now.  ;D
Decks take time to build. Keep doing it and you will get it eventually. :)

I don't think I'm being mean I'm just saying he needs to take a chill pill this is like his third rant leaving thread plus his "I'm finished with this stupid deck!!!" THIS IS REDEMPTION!!!!!! (*sparta*) its a game not a life long important decisions that really matters  ;) and if you get upset about a game (I have a friend whose aunt will cuss you out if you beat her at RISK) you might just want to leave the games alone.

It's not really your place to point that out, much less with a picture of an angry baby.  That hurts the situation much more than it helps.

I think at this point it's time to lower your standards.

Also, you get better with practice. Some people just have what it takes, but the rest of us need to learn to have fun no matter the outcome of the game.

Wow I just took the time to read the thread and here are my words of advice.

PLAY BOOSTER! I have played for a year and a half and I don't have the money or cards to make the most uber deck of all times DONT TRY ITS A WASTE OF TIME. If you play booster cards and money put into the game dont matter its just pure skill.Granted it takes time to learn how to draft but once you know how its fun and its PLAYER SKILL.

Last words of advice don't play unless your playing for fun we are all trying to win but if you lose just shake the guys hand say good game and go eat a footlong. Or you could be mad at yourself for losing and kick a trashcan and yell and scream or TYPE IN ALL CAPS and learn to hate the game instead of just enjoying it. WE ALL LOSE SOMTIMES for me I lose more than I win but don't get mad just try again.

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.
Al Franken, "Oh, the Things I Know", 2002

Wise men profit more from fools than fools from wise men; for the wise men shun the mistakes of fools, but fools do not imitate the successes of the wise.

Good, I think you really need this break to get some perspective on life.

First off, please tell me that the Al Franken you're referring to isn't the one who somehow came up with thousands of extra votes in Minnesota.

Second off, booster is a LOT of luck. Skill to a point, but mostly luck. As with most redemption, but with booster you actually have to draw your few good cards.

It's learing to play with what you drafted.

The two above quotes are blatantly untrue.  All multiplayer events are luck based, and each game is affected by a person's opinion, outlook, and mentality on the game and you (as their opponent).

I've had some of the best drafted decks not do well because of people and not the cards.  (We're talking single color offense and defense in booster with site access!)

You have to be lucky enough to curry favor from almost every player in almost every round in multiplayer and especially Booster!

As for your break Matt, enjoy it but don't make it last forever.  Just make it the length of when the game becomes fun again.   :)

I'm glad taking a break is helping Matt. It's not wrong to want to win, but it is wrong to make that desire to win get in the way of your relationship with God, or with friends (like the people on the boards). Despite only having met you once at '06 Nats, I definitely consider you a friend. I truly hope that when you do return to the game, you have gained a little perspective on what it means to you, and what it should mean to you.
