They are different things.  The iPad isn't a PC, it is for people who don't have an iPhone or laptop, people who want a portable kitchen computer, or students who want an ereader.  You (and I) don't fit into any of those groups.  We don't want it, but there defintely are people who will gobble this up.  The Kindle (a single purpose device easily emulated by a program) has done really well, this will leave it in the dust.
its also for mac lovers who will buy anything apple and dont want to have to shop around for a better tablet or netbook

Maybe many Mac fanboys will buy them, but many expert Mac lovers who want a netbook will buy a Dell Mini 9 and Hackintosh it.

seems like its an over sized ipod touch and I don think there is a dvd drive so i cant watch my movies on there and I will have to rebuy them from itunes
You don't have to rebuy your movies!  All you have to do is burn the dvds to your computer and no more disks.  Check out Handbrake if you want to do it.

Many tech geeks suppose that the future of the intarwebs is The Cloud (tm).  Expect many pieces of hardware like this that will try to make all of your stuff software-based and cloud-utilizingly portable.  See also: the Netbooks with the Google OS.

Not yet.  They're coming.  Probably another year out.
