Here are some of the simple* joys I have in life...

*Chatting with a friend I haven't talked with in a long time.

*Drinking an ice cold Mountain Dew.

*Taking time to give a stranger directions.

*Getting my room organized.

*Finishing a workout (bike ride, weights, basketball game, etc)

What are your simple joys?

*I have not included things like prayer, Bible reading, praise and worship, etc because I do not believe those to be merely "simple" joys--they are much more significant.

Holding my son.

-Pitching a game of baseball.
-Being around friends.
-Drinking an ice cold Root Beer.

-Being outside and relaxing.
-Finishing a long night of Karate.

Walks in the woods with my wife
Having the grands kids stay over
Watching my dogs frolic about in the yard
Finding things
Learning
Redemption Tournaments where win or lose, I walk away with my head hurting (from concentrating) and a smile on my face

These are some simple joys of mine:

*Camp in the wilderness

*Sit in front of a fire (which I created)

*Play the piano

*Play a game of Chess (Or any game that requires thinking)

*Read a good book

*Offer advice whenever I am asked for it

*Debate with everybody I meet

*Stand in a rainstorm

*Let a powerful dust-devil wash over me

Turn off the lights, have a piece of cheesecake, and turn on "Only in Dreams" (or "I Will Possess Your Heart" or "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Part 2"... something about those 8 minute songs). Oh yeah.

Also, the sunsets across the marsh where I live end up being fantastic a huge amount of the time. Sometimes it's amazing just looking at them: one two three four five six more in my sig

One of my favorite songs.

Another good long song is Deathbed by Relient K (over 8 minutes long), the lyrics are great and tells a story (which I love).

Simple joys... Hm...

*Weight lifting.

*Call of Duty with friends.

*Writing the occasional poem.

*Drinking a nice glass of Sweet Tea while watching TV.

*Listening to music.

*Helping a friend with their math homework and then hearing them go "Ohhhh I get it now!"

I just recently learned what sweet tea is from a girl from Alabama. From the way she described it, 4 out of 5 dentists would recommend a nice cold glass of Mountain Dew instead...

Some of my simple joys:

*Walking home from work, especially after I have been productive that day.
*Laying in the grass
*Country music (yes, I'm one of THOSE people)
*Correcting people's grammar
*Having long conversations that either go deep into one topic or span many different topics
*Pretty much anything chocolate related

Reading a book, writing an essay, drinking at the pub, pipes, playing every piano in the piano store, hanging out at Gibson studios, eating thai food, going to church, long nights out on the lake with my brothers, and spending time with the fair sex; these are a few of my favourite things.

* Coming home from work.

* Street lights that turn green just when you get there.

* Hitters who run their hardest down the first baseline (even when they are out).

* Ten minutes in a Jacuzzi

* Convenient water fountains when I'm really thirsty.

* Leftovers of my wife's cooking.

* Any ultra-rare during a Booster Draft.

* Having met Reyzen.

It's actually two joys in one:

1. Students who say, "Oh, I get it!" after I've helped them with a difficult Algebra or Geometry problem.

2. Students who say, "Oh, I get it!" five minutes after I've told a joke.
