*2/3 Simialrity Postulate- If two of any three arbitrary qualities of any object living or non living object are similar than the third quality is similar.

Botanically, a tomato is the ovary, together with its seeds, of a flowering plant. Therefore it is a fruit or, more precisely, a berry.

By U.S. tariff laws, a tomato is considered a vegetable. The applicable law defined produce by its use and not its scientific classification. And from a culinary point of view, a tomato is a vegetable.

What are Fruits and Vegetables

So the tomato is the fruit of a tomato plant, but a vegetable for cooking.

Like the grape, the tomato grows on a vine, and is considered a berry, and berries are fruits.

A tomato is definitely a fruit. That's why it contains seeds. But most people would call it a vegetable. It's often used as vegetables are used. The term "vegetable" is a culinary term, so a tomato could be a fruit, served as a vegetable. The distinction is blurred by the labeling of "ketchup" as a vegetable when it is more properly a nutritional condiment.

anyways, so those who say in culinary tomato is a vegetable, but it's a fruit, so it's both a fruit and a vegetable? lol
i just think tomato is just the only fruit that wants to be a vegetable.

Bob the tomato is very confused, cant we just leave him be. I mean he already has problems deciding whether he's a boy or girl (in France he is masculine, in Spain she is feminine (or it could be the other way around) )
