Thanks to EmJayBee for putting this together.

BEWARE and WARNING!

This post is different from other posts.

You and YOU ALONE are in charge of what happens in this story.

There are dangers, adventures, choices and consequences. YOU must use all of your numerous talents and much of your enormous intelligence. The wrong decision could end in disaster--even death. But, don't despair. At anytime, YOU can go back and make another choice, alter the path of your story, and change its result.

You, Drake Westcott, have been hired by your uncle to serve as a port hand for his private docking area in the Florida Keys for the summer. You enjoy being able to work outdoors soaking up the son, and admiring the scenery. As a port hand, your job involves helping stock, clean, tie and untie the luxury boats that harbor at your uncle's dock. The pay is minimal, but the wealthy owners of the boats are known to tip generously.

Early one morning, you see a boat gliding towards a docking slip. Pulling out your binoculars, you see is it the Mary Celia. This boat is owned by John Howard, a millionaire who made his money as a founder of an internet startup. Just yesterday, you had helped Mr. Howard stock the boat for a three day cruise around the neighboring islands. You are surprised to see Mr. Howard returning so early, and walk down to the dock to see if you can be of service.

When you get to the slip the Mary Celia is already docked. You call out to the owner, "Yo, Mr. Howard," but there is no response. Looking at the boat, you notice a fine picnic lunch spread out on the stern, but no people. Calling again, you get no answer.  The Mary Celia appears to be abandoned. Thinking about Mr. Howard and his family you have to make a decision.

Click here if you go onto the boat and explore.

Click here if you go to your uncle's office for help.

Here's the deal. PM me or EmJayBee if you want to write up one of these two options.  When your post is done, I'll add the link in above. You need to end with a choice, and I'll let you do the follow-on linking from your page.

I've tried to capture the style and tone of the original CYOA books. They all began with pretty much the same four opening paragraphs.
