Testing Nats 2010 Back-Up Live Cam -- Tweakers Needed!

Peace and Blessings!

I am using a back-up live stream for Nats 2010.  The video quality is just 'webcam'.  This broadcast will remain on at Nats only as back-up for the main one.  Matt Sinclair (PA) is broadcasting Nats 2010 live on HD streaming.

The job is pretty simple for anyone who tests the back-up Live Cam.  Tell me how your web browser receives the live feed, and comment on quality of the following:

a.  video (already knowing it's just a webcam used)
b.  broadcast volume (depending on what you will hear, it may be an audio file or a mic feed)

Using your standard volume and vid settings, comment on how you want me to improve my broadcast settings.

The current live broadcast setting is wireless.  I expect to be connected to the wired network at Nats. There I should expect increased video and audio streaming quality.  So far, I am hearing a 1 second delay between actual audio playback and web audio playback.  Not bad for a wireless setting.

If I see any request for me to use mic/voice, I will try my best to switch to mic mode for you to test quality.

No spamming nor foolishness please.  We need serious input.

Also, if you would wish to host a live feed from me, I'm willing to share the 'embed' code with you.  Embed the code on your website to publish the same screen you are viewing on my website.  However, you must let me know your website address and you must be willing for me to publish your website as a one of the back-up broadcast 'channels'.

FYI, by joining Ustream.tv for free, you will have a chance to go on chat mode with me while watching Nats 2010 live!

I will not be live all the time and so it will be hit and miss for members.

Thank you advance and Godbless!

See and comment on the live streaming here:
http://needsrus.com/

Clicking the 'play' button the first time might take you to the Ustream website.  If you do not wish that to happen, click the play button from my website one more time.  The screen will play.

hey Roy!

I click on the video stream and the audio and video quality sound good on my mac.  However a song playing is pretty straight forward so I would not expect any problems from that.  I think we need to here vocal quality from someone talking/ playing redemption or announcing somthing from the distance it may be recorded at the venue.  Some tweeking may need to be done once everything is set up at nats.  Player not attending, that may be watch should be helpful with this.

Hope this helps!

God Bless!

The sound quality is good.  What little video I've seen (your hand & camera adjustment) to this point appears to be blurry with movement.  I don't know if you're moving quickly or it's the webcam.

*EDIT:  I agree with Rob and I want to add...I'm checking this on a Mac too.  My PC is at the office.

Thanks guys!  I will lower vid broadcast quality one notch.  I will also try to be live on mic.  If not, we at least know that the sound quality for music is good enough.

You sound great overall.  There seems to be a little bit of background "static".  Honestly, it sounds like an old movie projector that is way far away.  It is not annoying/irritating or anything like that, and my volume is all the way up.  Sounds great.

there is definitely some blur with movements (with your hand waving.)

Like you literally just said:  the audio is good enough and people are aware that it is a webcam and not to get high expectations:  then this is a perfect back up.  Actually, it's not that bad if you take all in consideration.  Good Job!  Virtual encouragement for you.  :-)

i think the cam is perfectly fine. like ss said, a little bit of background static, but voice audio is very good. the video is also very good, especially considering most webcam steams i've seen are very poor in quality. only hiccup is the minor blur, but only happens if a fast movement happens. overall very very good!

Thank you one and all!  I will be back tomorrow if I can.  I will move the vid quality one more notch lower.  I will maintain sound level as it is.

God bless you all!

If you'd like me to host it on Three Lions Gaming, as well, I'd be glad to see if I can get it running - I've never done something like that before. But if that would be helpful, just let me know. :)

Hey Ken!  Thanks!  All you need to do is copy and paste the embed code I will send you.  However, please make sure that the primary screen is the main live feed by Matt Sinclair (I'm awaiting his code too).  You may if you wish make my back up live stream as a 2nd screen but please make sure you indicate it as a back-up stream only.  I will PM you the code to copy and paste in your website.

Thanks and Godbless!

To All:

As you read this I might be live streaming videos and perhaps might go on live as I did a couple of days ago.  Please refer to my initial post on what this is all about, in case you do not yet know.  Thanks and Godbless!

Sound's working fine, but all I'm seeing is the Redemption logo and your avatar.

You may have perchanced me paying the video bits.  I go on live for 5 minutes each time and then segue with vids.  I'll see if I can go on live successfully tonight.  Last night was not good for audio streaming via mic.  Godbless.

Yeah, saw that clip.  Video was a bit laggy, audio was good, but turned to static at one point.
