Sweet Tea
« on: July 16, 2009, 10:23:33 AM »

As I am sitting drinking some sweet tea, I was wondering how many of us here drink Tea?  I like sweet tea sweetened only with sugar (no lemon), which made me weird growing up in NY, but now that I live in Maryland it is more common.  So I guess what I am asking is, Does any else here drink a lot of Iced tea?  What is your prefered flavors?  Home made or commercial?

Spoken like a true northener.  While I live in ohio, and was raised in Southern Indiana, I was raised on homemade lipton Sweet tea.  We also had Sun Tea from time to time at family gatherings and such (basically let the tea bags sit in sugar water while out in the sun for a couple of hours while you are out doing something else and come back to some refreshing tea)

having worked on a farm most of my youth, nothing quenches a thirst better after a hard day of puttin up hay, than ice cold sweet tea.

Moutain Dew is better, but even then, I no longer drink soda.

As I said the last time sweet tea was mentioned on the boards:

I recently met a girl from Alabama who told me about sweet tea. From the way she described it, 4 out of 5 dentists would recommend Mountain Dew instead.

I have never had a tea, iced or otherwise, that I really enjoyed. When it comes to cold drinks, I'd choose Coke with Lime.

I was raised on Iced Sweet Tea (being from Alabama), but in the past few months I have gotten myself away from the sugary side of tea, and I have grown to absolutely love UNsweet tea! I like it hot, and I like it cold, and I'll occasionally still drink it with a little sugar in it, but not like I used to.  Too much sugar now, and I can barely even get it down.

All I drink on a daily basis is Milk (1% or Skim), Orange Juice (100% juice, no pulp), and Water (100% H20).  During the school year, I drink Powerade almost every day, due to rugby practice, running, and working out.

True, but that isn't a daily occurrence.  I usually does not occur more than 3 times a week (exactly 3 times in the past week).  ;)

I dont like normal tea but there is this one tea i enjoy... Ugh.. cant remember the name right now... smells like pumpkin. I really enjoy hot cocoa though and cappuccino...

Honestly, i drink whatever i got. When im at home i have a closet full of Powerade so ill drink that. If i feel special ill have cappuccino or hot cocoa if mom bought some.

I think I'll have tea when i get home....

Ok, got the info from the church secretary, its Chai Tea that I like. :D

I love tea almost as much as redemption!  Good thing I can do both at the same time, as anyone who attends my playgroup would know  :D(I sometimes bring a gallon to share!).

Tea, Earl Grey, hot, milk and sugar.

My New Jersey Russian family drinks iced tea (which I despise) and my Texas family (who are REALLY Texan) drink hot tea.

It's a weird reverse.

So that's where all the syrup went. I thought the cats were making chocolate syrup cat food with it. I guess I should not have beat them...

Born in Georgia, live in Texas, Sweet Tea is my life.  :)

I wake up and drink a glass of Sweet Tea, then usually a gallon of water before workout and a G2 gatorade during Workout. Then a glass of Sweet Tea with dinner.

Oh and... HOME MADE!  8)

I love home-brewed, lightly-sweetened iced tea; best stuff in the world. I don't like warm tea nearly as much except for in winter (even then, not as much as iced), but it's still better than non-A&W soda.

Getting your caffeine from Dew rather than coffee or DP is like getting your protein from a shake rather than a big, juicy steak.
