Let's all at least be thankful the Saints players (most of them) gave the glory to God for the win.

It was pretty cool how they got back from 10-zip to win against a very strong team when they had never even been to a Super Bowl before!

as for the commercials, there were a few that made me laugh.  The doritos commercial was great, as was the brett favre commercial.  but most were ho-hum

as to the game, Sean Payton earned that game.  There is no one in america that bigger B@lls than him.  to go on fourth and goal just before the half, then to come out with an onside kick...then to play for the INT.

That is some brave playcalling and all the cards fell his way.

But here is my counterfactual  ;D

IF the colts had played agresive when they were deep in their territory after the SUPERB defensive stop on fourth and goal, the Saints would be down AT LEAST 10-3 at the half... more if the colts could have generated a field goal out of the last 1:50 of the first half...

IF the colts had recovered the onside Kick...I think that would be Game over.  Peyton with a short field and the Saints are already looking at a 17-3 deficit and we are half way through the third quarter....

IF Garcon had not dropped the Third and long late in the Third that drive would have generated points (atleast a field goal..maybe more)

IF, Peyton had not thrown the INT.....

IF Reggie had not dropped the ball in the end zone...the colts would have had a shot at an onside kick...

There are a lot of IF's here...but the fact is, the Saints won because they played agressive nd it payed off for them.

And the Colts buttoned up when they too are a team that shines when they take a shot down the field.  They needed to get into a shootout with New Orleans because Brees was just carving up their defense.

FWIW, that Garcon drop was the identical play to the INT later in the game.  Same area of the field, similar down and distance, same personnel, same formation.  Porter got a REEEEAAAAAL good look at it earlier.

But yes, the game was quite a bit closer than a 2 TD gap suggests, and Peyton has nothing to hang his head about.  He didn't even GET the ball that much after the first quarter, so really the best Saints defense was the one sitting on the bench because they had the ball.  But he played lights out with the few chances he got.  Most other days that would be a solid win for Indy.

WHO DAT!

Anyways, as for commercials:

The doritos "slap" commercial and the nacho chip Samurai (Tim) were pretty great.

The Denny's screaming chickens were entertaining.

Being in a room full of girls, I feel inclined to say that the google commercial was pretty great after a room filled with "Awwwwwww"s.

Personal favorite: The "6 more weeks of football" commercial. Just greatness.

What is the Super Bowl? :P

(Even though I have not been around much, please don't ban me for the rhetorical question.)

I only caught glimpses of the event, and it bored me to tears. I remember watching "The Who" give their little gig with all of those shiny lasers and lack of skill that they used to display when they were younger. All I can remember thinking was, "Why would people spend so much money to look so good and be so famous when those thousands (or millions?) could be spent given to some charitable service? What a waste! It is beyond me."

Call me a killjoy, but that is all that I gathered from the event, except that everybody was talking about this "Peyton" guy and one of my friends divided the teams into his own little religious factions:

Saints (Christians)
Colts (Muslims)

I guess for someone who does not enjoy football, the superbowl would be rather boring. However, for football fans, it is typically the ultimate game, as the two teams can generally be regarded as the best two of the year.

I actually have heard the debate that such a contested sport doesn't really give you THE BEST TEAMS, but rather, the most victorious ones. And although I do not watch the sport, I am inclined to agree.

By the way, I do enjoy the commercials. :)

Well, when you only play 16 games in a regular season, the level of "victoriousness" is what shows how well a team plays. Its pretty easy to see that the 1-15 Rams were not as good as the 13-3 Saints this year.  :P
