When did we get sidebars on the forum? I was going to say they were kind of annoying, as they squished everything into a single column, but I found the minimize options... so I'm fine with them.
However, one thing I would like to see is the ability for the boards to utilize my full screen width (1440x900), then I could have the sidebars without everything being smushed. I don't know how easy or hard that would be, so I'm not demanding it or anything, just a thought I had.

Just now. Schaef has been messing around. ;)
-
I'm using a 1280 x 1040 screen and it goes the whole width.
Metalistic is a fixed-width theme, and therein lies your problem.
-
I likes it
-
I thought it was Schaef who added it. :P
As said, I really like the info they have, I'd just like to see them added on the outside edges of the forum screen, rather than squashing everything into the middle.
*edit* ahh, bummer. I really like this theme though. :-\
*EDIT 2* After trying out all the other looks and not liking them, I found a solution, just keep the sidebars minimized unless I need them. Thankfully they stay minimized while i browse around, so they arent an annoyance, but I can pop them out when I need them. Thanks for adding this Schaef. :)

Hey, what happened to the "recient posts" section of the right sidebar? Thats the one I liked the most. :(
*EDIT* the whole right sidebar just vanished?
-
Trying an alternative to sidebars. Go Home.
-
That works as well, but I was already getting used to the sidebars, I liked how you could pop them out whenever you wanted.
Whatever you want to keep it as I'm fine with, but I think I prefered the popouts.

Wishywashy.

Well I dont want to sound unnapreciative... :)

What I really need is practical feedback. If this does/does not work for users, I want to know so I can make adjustments, or just can the whole thing.
-
The design as it is now does work. However, I did prefer the sidebars. I could minimize them if I wasnt using them, but I could pop them out while browsing the forums at the same time. Functional, easy to use, and speedy.
-
I prefer the sidebars. :)
-
I like it now.
-
I like these changes. I also like the Aa New Damage for the skin :D
-
I like it a lot. =D
What other sidebars are available? It would be interesting to know.
EDIT: They are changing as I refresh. Please keep the User Info one. I really like that one.
EDIT 2: The User Info one seems to disappear when I go into a reply. Bug maybe?
-
Question, would it be difficult or easy to make our sidebars customizable, so we can put whatever we want on ours?
*edit* If not... This is my favorite layout

Recent topics and online users are by far the most helpful. :)
-
Lot of votes for online users.
okay, then...
-
YAY! I like it like this. Now i have my info, recient topics, and whos online right there, and I can access everything else with Home.
Good job Schaef. :)
-
I agree. Awesome... and now it's gone. ;D
EDIT: It's back. :)
-
What I like is keeping the forum info on one side, the double sidebars were just squishing it too much.
-
Awesome, I like it a lot. My personal vote is to can Upcoming Events, or move it to the bottom. However, the minimize feature helps.
What other ones are there? Also, is there a way to make this user specific and settable, or am I asking way too much?

It can't be customized, let's not get crazy here.
I can understand the reduced interest in the events block, but these boards have a great system to allow us to show the tournament schedule and link to threads for info, and I don't think people are taking nearly enough advantage of it. For now, the events are an executive decision.

Mmkay, I was just curious. It'd be total win if that were possible.

Just hit the triangle to make that section go poof if you dont need it.
-
triangle?
-
Same question here. ;D
-
Err, it may be different on the other themes, but you can minimize individual sections.
-
ah, it is a normal minimize icon on the default. Just clarifying.
-
yes, I know I'm double posting, but I found something different. On the top right of the screen (with the default skin, right below the search field), there is a small minimize button. Hit it, all the sidebars disappear and you get your screen back. just an fyi for those who don't like it. I do btw.

Already found that bud. ;)

Did you just quote yourself? ::)
-
Fact. Lambo just failed. Fact.
-
He quoted himself to demonstrate that the thing you are talking about, he had already found, at the time he posted previously.

Hmm...then I just failed badly.
