My map pin won't show up on Member Map

So I've tried numerous times to place a pin in my hometown (Gainesville, FL) on the map.  I placed the pin and then pressed Save Changes, then it refreshes and doesn't show the pin.  I've done it multiple times with the same outcome.  I've updated my profile for other things and those are there, but the map pin won't stay on for some reason. 

Anyone can help with this?

I used to have a pin on my map but upon checking it just now it's missing. When I try to add it back I have the same problem as Watchman.

Seems like it might be an issue with the map app/plug-in itself.

The map pin has been glitching for quite some time now. We are waiting if the forum developer resolves it in the upcoming version updates.

Also, how do I add an avatar photo?  I tried that as well but it doesn't seem to want to work.  Probably something I'm not doing right.  I chose the option that lets you put in a link to a website, but when I put in the website of where the photo I want to use is it's not working. 

Any help would be appreciate!

I was having the same problem, but i can do the default photos, so that works just as well i guess. i still would really like my profile to be a cyborg ent-terminator thing :P ;D

That field only recognizes URLs with image file extensions at the end, such as mine: http://oi43.tinypic.com/233akg.jpg

Does the link you're trying to use have something like .jpg, .png, or .gif at the end?

It looks like your URL is just too long. When I shortened it via TinyURL it worked for me. Also I was wrong about it needing the image file type at the end, apparently that's not required.

Also in the future please modify your post if you need to add more information rather than posting again. There are Modify buttons at the top right and bottom right of your posts.

As an aside,  we always say this on Message Boards, but I disagree. If I read a post and then later only read the title of the thread and see that the person's post is still there, I may not ever read the post again to see their edits.

I would recommend copying the old post into a new post and adding to the new one, then delete the old post.
