Post the A list rock bands you like here.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

That would actually be helpful as the bands in my last FM range from what Rock is thought of in the classic form (The Horrible Crowes for example, they are a rather new band but Brian Fallon has been hailed as the second coming of Bruce Springsteen by the biggest Springsteen fan I've ever met), to punk rock (Sum 41) Pop-Punk (80% of that list) Metalcore (D.R.U.G.S) Screamo (A Day to Remember...sort of) NuMetal (Linkin Park) to just about every other sub-form of rock.

Sum 41 is not punk rock. Sum 41 is pop punk, and really, really generic, mainstream pop punk. Punk Rock is stuff like Green Day (stuff from Nimrod, Warning, and all of American Idiot), The Offspring, etc. Punk is stuff like Black Flag, Rise Against, etc. I'm a genre nazi from way back. Also, Screamo isn't an actual genre - it's not even really a style of vocals, since there's screaming and growling, and different sub-styles from there. For instance, Underoath is Metalcore, even though the vast majority of their vocals is a combination screaming and growling.

Anyways, Green Day is my favorite band, but The Killers and Weezer are up there. Right now I'm big into the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I'm experimenting with Oasis, AFI, and getting back into Audioslave more lately.

See Sum 41 All Killer No Filler. They used to be Punk. They've evolved in to more pop punk

Don't get me ranting about The Offspring. Rise and Fall disappointed me big time and I've refused to listen to them since. Real punk rock is stuff like The Ramones.

Ska-punk is where it's at  8)

70s punk rock (The Ramones, the Sex Pistols, the Dead Kennedy's, etc) is entirely different than stuff from the 90s punk revival though. The Offspring were one of the big bands that started that punk revival though.

No, they really didn't used to be punk. I have no idea how much their sound has evolved, as I don't listen to them at all, but their most popular song, Fatlip, is a really basic pop punk anthem. It's the exact same stuff that Green Day had released five albums of, and that blink-182 was, at the time, dominating the airwaves with.
