The thing is, it's more of a prequel to most of the Robin Hood movies that have been made in the past; it basically sets up the legend of Robin Hood that most are familiar with.

I was the Sheriff of Nottingham in our school play.  It will never be the same.  Still, I want to see it.

...was epic. Anyone else see it? Not surprisingly, it's a lot like Gladiator (same director and lead actor). Gladiator is still a better movie, but Robin Hood held its own, and will definitely be taking up a spot in my movie collection.

Was it better than any of the original Robin Hood's?

I am going to see it tonight with Martin, should be fun. I was slightly dissapointed that it is PG 13 IMO the more realistic the battles the better the movie.

I wouldn't be too worried...the battles are pretty realistic. There is only minimal "adult material" and nothing really in the way of bad language. I heard some people in the theater say that they thought that there was too much time between action scenes, but I thought there was a pretty good balance. That's what separates an action movie (like 300) from an epic movie (like Gladiator, Braveheart, Robin Hood, etc.)

I went and saw it last night and I throughly enjoyed the first half of the movie.  It was seriously in contention for a top 5 movie in my books.  ...but then the last hour of the movie happened and it made me sick to see how such a great movie could be ruined.  The love between Robin and Marian was very poorly done and what Marian does at the end of the movie is so fake and gimmicky it made me gag.

The acting (except for Marian), the scripting, and the cinematography were all brilliant.  Too bad he couldn't finish properly.
Gates of Hell is by far the best card in the game.  No questions asked.

Just saw it yesterday, and my wife and I both LOVED it!  Great movie, I could definitely watch it again.  Like today.

I didn't like it that much, I liked the plot but I wish there would have been more action. They should have done more with the mini skirmishes IMO.

Russell Crowe.  I'm a BIG fan of his.
