Im not sure how we would go about transfering all that data other than manually typing it in. Any ideas?

I wasn't suggesting that you load RedemptionLive!, just that the database contains all of this information for all of the cards. If there was a technique for loading the wiki pages automatically, I could write out the data from the RedemptionLive! database into some format (like text files) needed to import to the wiki. That way the loading of 2711 (if you include variants) wiki pages might be a little easier.

And on the completely different topic you brought up, what flagrant security issues are you referring to with regard to Silverlight? I am not aware of any (MANY golobal and commercial web sites are using it). I've been programming with it for a while and it is a very impressive tool for web developers to use. It is no more a security issue than anything else on the web.

This wikia is still an amazing idea. Anyways, can someone fix my Prince Jonathan page? Really not sure what I'm doing wrong there....

From that point onward, the software only loads changed card information to the user's machine. It caches the information locally  for the sake of performance (and possibly so that the software can function even when disconnected from the web).

Silverlight works with the browser to make it so that the client portion of the application can run on Windows, Macs and linux machines without needing to create a desktop application. Or it can run out-of-the-browser on Windows, Macs and linux. There wasn't a normal language available to build a desktop application that would run on all of these platforms. I could have used something like flash or air, but that would typically only be client side. My server code would then have to be created with a different tool. With Silverlight, I'm programming on both the client and the server in the same language and I get type-safe coding practices and a common library to use.

Also, not all of the data is stored on the client. Only common data that is useful so the client code doesn't have to go back to the server over and over again. Card data and pictures mostly. Once game play is enabled, the client communicates with the server which is the link between all of the players involved in the game with the server handling the coordination of the game rules and the progress of the game. All game results, user decks, game status, tournament schedules, etc are stored on the server.

And most of all, since Silverlight and .Net are the tools that we are using at my company, learning them in-depth was a major side benefit for all of the time I'm spending developing Redemption Live!

I wasn't really suggesting you use Air instead, considering the monetary investment needed to get the Flex tools.  I was just curious as to what kind of RIA capabilities were available with Silverlight as a comparison.

One small recommendation for storing local data on the client in that amount would be to allow the user to specify a location to store it.  For the average out-of-the-box user that may not mean a lot, but for people with limited system partitions for Windows but tons of storage elsewhere, it would be good strain relief.

Can accounts be created yet?  Because from what I could tell of the beta interface, I could not find a way to do so, and therefore could not create card collections or even figure out how to just look at cards.

Silverlight has some extensive tools for RIA development. I'm using CSLA.Net for Silverlight as a business object framework and I'm using Telerik Premium controls for Silverlight and WPF for advanced UI controls.

There is no option for where to save the cached data on the machine. Silverlight runs in the browser in a protected mode. As such, you can only save files to an area called Isolated Storage. The user must give permission, but your access is protected from other areas unless the user explicity initiates the action.

Accounts will be able to be created in the next beta stage. It currently has a number of unfinished areas that would be problematic if I was required to maintain user data throughout the release upgrade. Therefore, you can use the "guest" user with a password of "guest" for the current public beta. It's a bit old, the current version is quite a bit more polished, but I'll release it as soon as I can get it into very good shape.

I just did a little testing with some tools that I have and it looks like I could load the pages automatically from the RedemptionLive! database. I don't necessarily want to throw a monkey wrench into your project, but I could probably have the tools create all of the pages for all of the cards with the data that I have and people could add the stuff that only people know (like Strategy and Special Scenarios, etc.)

The tools look like they would be able to load the data wherever you were to host the wiki.

There are over 2500 cards in the set right now, to my knowledge, and no images available without SAs, at least, not on par with REG quality.

I can't speak for the people heading up this project, but I'll speak for the people heading up this project: YES THERE'S INTEREST.

My first attempt at a wiki had all the structure but I couldn't get the cards loaded.  It is easily the single biggest hurdle to clear, in terms of work involved versus value of the added info.

I have high quality images for all 2711 cards. I also have most of the card details in my specific way of storing them. My software arranges them into the card detail display that I pasted in earlier. I have automated testing software that lets me write scripts against a web site to enter and test data. So I wrote a script to control the current wiki that is being built and the software was able to completely create a page. I just didn't bother to save it to avoid conflicting with whoever is currently adding the pages.

I think that my database has some extra fields other than those listed (like what effects are in the special ability). However, I know that my database is not totally accurate on some of the identifiers, so I was in the process of reviewing the identifiers for all cards (not just the listed identifiers but all identifiers). My identifier list has 107 total identifiers at this point.
