My identifier list has 107 total identifiers at this point.
I bet I know one you forgot :)

So... does this mean I should stop making cards? Right when I've gotten it down too....

Although I must say, the format for how we've been doing it on the wikia, I like a lot more than how it's formatted in RedemptionLive! So if that's how it would be formatted.... I'd prefer to keep doing it how we are doing it.

I vouch for whichever will be quicker, and that seems to be Mr. Wolfe's proposed method hands-down.

I don't think that's the best criterion of measuring which method we should choose. If Redemption always chose the "quicker" and "easier" route, we'd never have this card game. I think taking as much as an extra several months to have a WAY better wikia is, in the long run, totally worth it.

The format can be whatever someone wants. The only constraints will come in regarding conflicts with the way I have data. For instance, since I have the cards categorized according to the 107 identifiers that I have, it would be difficult to categorize them differently and still have me be able to auto-load all the cards from the database. For other examples, I have the tin number as part of the Card Set (i.e., Rock of Ages(XIV) not an identifier of Tin 14). However, the plus side of loading it from RedemptionLive!, is that all of the cards can be loaded in a relatively short time frame in a consistent manner. How long will it take volunteers to enter all of the cards?

The format of the RedemptionLive! information is just my first pass. If anyone has a better format for the layout of the details, I can update the layout to one that is better. Once I change the layout in the program, it automatically is applied to all cards.

Again, I'm just offering to perhaps save a lot of people some time. Everyone is free to decide to take me up on the offer or not. Either way, I'll be continuing working toward Redemption Live!. Once it is generally available, it'll have a Card Explorer for searching and deck building in addition to whatever happens with the wiki.

Reassessment: Quickness/Easiness is certainly not the only factor here, although I seem to have stated it as such. The other most important factor is indeed quality. However, although Mr. Wolfe's layout may not be exactly what we want, it is close enough to be worth the time we will save.

Yes, but the beauty of a wiki is that it is a perpetual work in progress.  Even if the data imported from Live! is a framework with some issues here and there, cleanup work on that will be a snap compared to entering every card manually from scratch.

imo, It's not just some things "here and there." The overall layout I think is a LOT less effective, and less pleasing to the eye.

I'm not suggesting that my layout be used. I was offering to enter the DATA from RedemptionLive! directly into the wiki  page layout automatically. The fields may be populated somewhat differently, but the formatting can be whatever you want it to be.

mjwolfe: Go right ahead.  If you break it, then the Wikia admins will learn something.  If you don't, we'll save a heck of a lot of time.
Everyone else: Hold on for a second, I don't know how this'll work.  If only there were a movie quote for this instance...

Yeah, I vote we mass upload the data from Redemption live, then manually fix any mistakes or add in whatever was missing.

I still would like the list, so I can create a page and put the picture on it as a placeholder for whoever's assigned to that brigade.

Right, that'd be awesome. I need to know which purple pictures he's loaded and what he titled them.

Or maybe not? Aren't we waiting on Mike Wolfe?

The titles match the file names.  For now I'm just doing a bulk load.

Within the next couple days you will have every card with a special ability through FooF.  That's your list.  But right now I'm only in like the Ks or Ls.

And I don't know if Mike's data load will include the actual images or only references to the images.  I'm hedging my bets and loading the images anyway.

If I'm going to load the data, my program was going to create all of the pages and load all of the images. I'm a little concerned about the chance that my image naming scheme doesn't match what is currently being entered and I may get duplicate errors when I try to upload the same image that's already there or else we end up with the same image entered twice with slightly different names.

Should I ignore all variants when loading the pages and include only different versions of the same card?

Can I load my additional identifiers or rename any that are the same but using a different name than the categories that are already created?

So far, I haven't had dup issues, because the wiki spits out a warning that says "warning: this file already exists!  You wanna reload it with a different name?  And I say, nah, and just go back to what I'm doing because the non-dups were uploaded successfully anyway.

We might want to sit down and work out a common set of identifiers so that Mike doesn't need to worry about consistency.  It will have the added benefit of proofing the identifiers he has loaded in Live! at the same time.

I am currently reviewing the identifiers in Redemption Live! because that was a step I needed to take there anyway. Might as well start with the most accurate set of identifiers I can. I've gotten all the way through "Roman" so far so I'm most of the way done. There were numerous corrections I made compared to the beta list.

I would put an extra set of eyes on it but I had a little trouble with the program last night.  I'll PM you when I get home with more specific details because I know how little help it is to name some nebulous "problem".

I've finished reviewing all of the identifiers in the database for accuracy. I'm ready to start scripting the load of the data. I still need an answer to the question about loading only different versions of the same card or both different versions and different variants. I will hopefully get a chance to try to get it working over the weekend.
