Promotional Cards

Why not start using them to increase sales? I don't mean ones you get from tournaments. But let's say, next year, they have ROA3. 1 in every 10 tins comes with a promotional card that you can only get in that tin.

I think this would increase sales on products that you know what you're going to get (like tins and starters). And to make them really cool, perhaps they could give them the shiny texture or thesaurus, or, more uniquely, perhaps just make a shiny border, in accordance with Redemption's border theme of rarity?

Maybe it's just me, but this seems like a cool idea, and I'm sure it wouldn't cost THAT much extra to print 1-3 new cards with every set.

I think it'd just increase the gap between the haves and have-nots.

Well it wouldn't be a card like Authority of Christ. But maybe an artifact that's good but you don't NEED it to win, or one card that helps a certain theme?

True.  Redemption can get frustrating to people who don't have a lot of $$$ to spend.

This could be a fun thing to do even if it weren't with new promo cards, but instead with old promo cards that Rob might have a stack of in the warehouse somewhere.  It could be a way to add a surprise into a tin, but not add to that gap that people above are worried about.

Isnt this the purpose of Texp and Disciples? If physical boosters are ever again made in the future this isnt a very plausible thing to do because I sure hope we arent going to be getting Texp or Tin styles sets every single year. Imo both of which are too expensive for the average player to splurge money on.

Who said it then? I heard it mostly from the players. This time, I've heard it from several PTB.

It's funny what they say when they think players aren't listening.

What's happened the past three years is that there's a lot of talk about new Starters at Nationals, yes, even from the elders.

Around mid-fall, after the new cards are released and things have settled down a bit for Rob, he evaluates what he wants to do for the set that will be released the following summer. Until that time none of us know for sure what's next.

Last year after Nationals we started tossing around ideas for new starters when Rob told us to hold off, he didn't need any more starters at that time. Could we have new Starters this year? Absolutely. But it's too early to tell.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?
