overrated:RTS
Oh... I have windows now... Where can I get that?
Meditation is under rated; I've been giving different methods of it a try lately.I think the Bible is both overrated and under rated; it's too much of a "tool of argument" and less of a "means to wisdom/understanding". The Bible is taken too much at face value; I think we should spend more time investigating the more mythical and philosophical parts rather than just finding out the answer to something like "is drinking a sin?"

This quote was just hilarious to me. #1 I think the Bible should be taken way more at face value, and #2 I think your perspective on the Bible is EXTREMELY biased based on what you WANT to be true, and the example you gave was an excellent case in point. Very funny brother.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal cheese."I just corrupted the Bible.
Weren't you the one who believes the Bible to be uncorruptable? That sounds more like believing what you want to be true."For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal cheese."I just corrupted the Bible.
One chance to move off this topic and get back to the fun stuff.

Honetly Colin, your argument makes you look foolish. I beleive the word of God to be inspired by god (not authored by God) So God's word cannot be corrupted just like my words cannot be corrupted. They can be misused and mistranslated or misunderstood but they are Gods words just as my words are my words, they cant be corrupted by you because as soon as you mess with them, they become your words filled with your intentions and your designs. While you cant corrupt my words jsut like Gods words, God's words do differ in several very important ways. 1) they bring light, life and truth to humanity. 2) Gods word still exists as his word, despite the fact that he is using broken and fallible vehicles to tramnsmit his message. Despite all the translations, interpretations, transliterations, miscommunications, etc. I believe God to be actively involved in the process protecting and preserving his message to humanity.Yes there have been additions and changes from the "original" word of God. Just look at the differences in the Lords Prayer from the Catholic to the Protestant Faiths. But I believe these "mistakes" or 'corruptions" to remain faithful to Gods Word. The Bible has been the most copied book in the world and in spite of this, it has the least amount of variance than any other copied manuscript. we are even less sure of what the original writings are for some of Shakespeare's plays than we are about the word of God. That should help reveal how important God's word is to Him.
