Also, I wanted to ask for clarification on how exactly the riddle was worded, since the way it is worded in the OP doesn't allow for your answer to be correct.

Naturally, the more you buy, the better the bargain. "Everything is WORTH 10 cents." Not priced 10 cents. However, it asks what the item IS, not how the pricing works.
