New Type of Redemption: Auction Style Redemption Games

Howdy all,

I thought this would be sweet.  This is based on auction style fantasy baseball btw.  Basically everyone starts out with the same amount of money and buys cards that are set at various prices.  No actual money is used, but the money system is used to pick the best deck of cards for a capped amount of money.  For example a t1 deck is limited to $56.  Want to use that AOCP?  That'll be $35.  Now you only have $21 for your other 49 cards.  I think this would instantly tweak how redemption is played and which cards are used.  I understand that we couldn't go straight off a priceguide, but super powerful cards would be very expensive compared to weaker cards that would cost a lot less.  I'm pretty sure a group of players could come up with a "price list" that would be used.  So basically we could setup decks according to the $ limit cap.  What do you guys think about this?  Any1 interesed in helping me put together a price list?  Think this is a terrible idea, lol?  Let me know what you think, thanks.

Daniel

P.S. After standard amounts are determined, it would be easy to find a RTS game use'n $56 or $32 or $75 decks.  You would already have them saved and ready to go.

P.S.S. I think this would also give an edge to deckbuilders and help to get rid of must have staples in decks and would allow everyone to use a lot more different cards without having to get stomped each game.

I love the idea. The hard part would be establishing a price guide.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Yeah that would be tough.  I'd say though after it was done once, then it would only have to be updated after each new set.  If new combos are discovered too, it would be easy to change a $ value.  All of this could be put into an easy to sort through excel doc too.  I would say if we can get at least a couple people to look over the cards and place a $ value on them, then we could avg those numbers and make the first price guide.  It might take a bit of time to get that first price guide setup, but I think it would be worth it.

I thought guides established a minimum price and you can overbid and drive up the price, etc?
