Question for Google Chrome users

Hey guys. I have a quick question about Google Chrome... is there a way to tell Chrome to apply anti-aliasing to text? I quickly realized Chrome is not using AA on text, and it makes reading a little harder on the eyes.

So, anyone know a way to turn AA back on?

I'm not extremely computer savvy (didn't know what anti-aliasing was until just now), but after doing a little googling, I found this.  Is that what you're looking for?

I personally prefer the text without this extension, but that's just me. :)

Well thats definitely Anti-Aliasing.... but its not very good... I'll see if I can tweak the font settings to make it work better. If not, I may look around some more.

I'm used to the AA that IE7/8 uses, which is very smooth without looking blurry.

What OS are you running?  I agree that the AA in that extension isn't very good.  There is one other AA extension that I can find, but it's by the same guy and it doesn't look much different to me.

There's your problem.  Switch to Windows 7!  It automatically anti-aliases.

But other than that, I'm not sure I can help you.  :)

Hmm, shame that Chrome doesn't apply AA by default... then I'd have absolutely no reason to use another browser. lol.

I found the solution. I had to install the Cleartype Tuner from Microsoft. That changes type in a lot of other stuff as well. So much smoother.  ;D

I agree that Chrome does not use AA because whenever I used it I felt eye ache. Therefore, I generally opt for Mizilla Firefox generally.

You can easily fix it in XP as I just discovered. Install this: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypePowerToy.mspx

Chrome uses it too once you install it. Its a VERY smooth AA.
