Yeah his explanation is still enigmatic to me and I find it a large stretch between what the CoL and FotS are all about and what JD's interpretation is.

The nickname makes no sense to me. I call it CoL.

Well currently the way 2 people tried to beat it was by stealing them (Joseph Kony reference)

Move over bacon is the code name for RoJ could be Sizzlean but Coney is a funnier food reference and it also ties into the children being fed

Coney island is grand finale for the children being the opposite of what would happen in game assuming your children arent stolen by Kony your opponent

But at the end of the day the funniest part is the pun that came from something Daniel said "nationals winner decks are one trick ponies"

One trick Kony ;) hehehhe for anyone who has a sense of humor it's a funny pun and triple entendre ;p not one for the ethugs

I guess my disconnect comes from thought connections as in...
... I don't know who Joseph Kony is.
... I've never been to Coney Island and when I think of it I think NY Amusement park and not food.
... Never been a fan of puns.
I get your logic...I just don't get the name but to me it is "to each their own."

Kony was a Ugandan who used child soldiers:

Honestly, JD, based upon how you've tried describing the connection between Koney and CoL-type decks is really only understood in your mind.  :o

It reminds me of a former roommate of mine. We had a mutual friend named Damien. As a play on Damien's name he used to call him Daminon, after the pronunciation of the cut of meat, filet mignon. He then started calling him Filet Daminon. Then, out of nowhere, he decided to start referring to Damien as Prime Rib. Yeah...that was how his mind worked.

I see the same with this whole Koney thing.

And I concur with Gabe, I, too, only refer to it as a CoL deck. The whole Move Over Bacon was a stretch that I still don't understand, however.

I guess I could try and compare it to children of light.

Children of Light is the hot dog and bun , and then you put a lot of toppings on it (the toppings being AOG and fruit enhancements )  :D :D ;D

This and the original Kony (Of Kony 2012 fame) using child soldiers are the only connections I've been able to pull out of the name.

While I see the loose connection to Kony I don't support glorifying or propagating his name. IMO it's a twisted sense of humor that finds that funny.

A coney hot dog, sure I get the connection. I even see the humor in that. But it's not a fitting nickname for the card or deck, whichever way it's being used.

Okay well let me be the first to apologize for everyone who derives a negative connotation to something intended to be funny and encouraging considering the guy still hasn't been caught and there are still starving children in Africa for both real food and the word (which many of us contribute to this very mission) while satan has targeted each of us by the same means (hunger for food and truth) and somehow utilized ministry to turn even Christian's against one another.

I echo Gabe's last reply. I believe the community understands what you were trying to do in humor and such, but the connection of what CoL and fruit of the Spirit are all about should not have been connected to a murderer and an enslaver of children. This part of the humor went too far and should have been and should still be disassociated with the spirit of the deck theme. It brings confusion to people when they read what the deck is all about and how it's somehow named after that murderer. I know it did with me and obviously others. It muddies the waters, to say the least. Don't forget that Redemption is more than a game; it's a ministry tool. So let's all be careful not to bring any kind of dishonor to this ministry or give any air time to someone like that murderer, even when joking around.

Murder as in banding to my children to play Christian martyr. That is definitely not funny to me which is another reason I'm making Hope.
