After speaking briefly with Rob, it seems to be best all around to continue pursuing an off-site solution while they work on their re-design.

That leaves the remaining question of whether to continue the de-construction of the Nexus and focus on wikia, or to keep the site and try to resurrect the parts and pieces in place there.

Let me open up the embedded wiki software so that members of the site can see it.  Anyone wants to see what I did there, create an account or use FB to login.  Only thing is I don't really have infoboxes set up for it, they edit more or less like a regular webpage submission, just with wiki formatting, [[link]] and things like that.

It's either on the menu under "Book of the Covenant" or I still have not set the visibility permissions correctly.

I know how to get a domain and hosting package, but other than that, I know nothing (About all the coding, uploading, and stuff, and etc, and more stuffs).  2 year hosting/domain package the way I know how to do it is about $100 for 2 years, and then it may be less when you renew it because you don't have to re-buy the domain, but that's about all I know and I do believe a wiki is probably better than making a separate off-site website.  That's just my opinion though and you NEVER HEARD IT FROM ME!!!   (Don't know if any of that helps or even makes sense ;) )

I don't think we'd be finding independent hosting for this.

I pay for the Nexus myself so private hosting is not an issue.

Wikia seems to be an open third-party host so while we only have some control over the presentation, we can still just put whatever there without worrying about hosting.  The exception being that if wikia folded tomorrow, then all our work would go away.

Can you back-up the information?  If so, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you do (Not that I think Wikia's gonna fold let's say, tomorrow, or anything ;) ).  Kidding aside, if you can back the info up, that would be a smart decision.  If you need a lot of memory, 250gb external hard-drives aren't very expensive.

It's just a fact of life when you put your information in The Cloud (tm).  Look at Lala.  You get all that music, or upload all your CDs or whatever, then Apple buys them, shuts them down, you get squat.

Oh, you get credit to the iTunes store.  Which charges ten times as much.  Oh goody.
