Moderators, Question

Why can't we talk about Yugioh but we can have Halloween threads?

Now I know a lot of these members could argue all day about how it's actually a Christian holiday, or whatever, but the fact remains that a LOT of Christians don't think it's a very reverent holiday, and some believe (like myself) that's it a very satanic holiday.

I would very much like to see Halloween be a "no talk" issue. This isn't a generally accepted idea that it's a Christian holiday or that it isn't wrong for Christians to celebrate it. In addition, some Christians would regard this as one of the most non-Christians things that we could talk about on this board. I would rather allow any other topic to be fair game than this.

Please consider this. I believe the purpose of having moderators who make certain topics off limits is to make this a community that doesn't provide any stumbling blocks for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Talking about celebrating halloween, I feel, it definitely putting a stumbling block.

Please lock this topic. It discusses both Halloween and Yugioh.

And now it discusses World of Warcraft.

If I mention that the Hallow's End world event is going on in World of Warcraft currently, is that double bad?

This is the kind of "I want to be right" argument I'd rather not have. Please don't try to act like they're just as noble as each other, because they're not.

If you're offended by Christmas, I would consider that being locked. But you're not, you just want to argue. There are a LOT more Christians that think Halloween is bad than Christmas.

'as noble'? first of all, are there different degrees of sin in gods eyes? two, im curious...what in the absolute slightest gives you the authority to judge what is more 'noble' than the other?

please leave the pure speculation out of this. but to address your point, dont dish it if you cant take it.

great. since you've taken it upon yourself to speak on behalf of the entire christian community, it wont be such a hard task to prove this statement is even remotely true, now would it? furthermore, are we here to judge which is more noble than the other? or that christmas offends probably just as many christians as halloween does and should be treated similiarly as you proposed?

1.since when is Christmas a sin
2.God kinda does that when one event represents the birth of his son and Halloween represents the opposite.

i feel like if it really bugs you then you should not consider it a holiday but rather an excuse to get together with friends. Halloween is not a holiday but simply an excuse as for Christmas which is both an excuse and a holiday.

Now goes the annual Halloween bashing thread. Alright guys I 've seen these before and the same arguments are contenusly repeated. Now let me throw a new one out there. Now what is wrong with dressing up as a superhero or Jedi knight or anime character and getting candy?

many christians believe the holiday of christmas to have pagan roots. many christians would consider that sinful. also, halloween doesnt represent the death of jesus (if that is what you meant by opposite). that would be good friday/easter, of which also many christians believe the holiday of easter to have pagan roots as well.

no i was not referring to the death of jesus.
i do know that it does have some pagan ideas but i don't think it's because of the event it's just how some people celebrate it.

It's greedy to steal your younger siblings candy, eat it, throw it all up while they cry, and then get to stay home from school while they still cry.
THAT'S EVIL.

Regardless of our own personal perspectives, our brother has made a request. A little more love and respect would have been appropriate for a Christian Message Board.

I will not discuss Halloween on these boards, Mr. Ninja. Your concerns are duly noted.

All Hallows Eve. Evil? Let's discuss.

The seventh Harry Potter book is called "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." Obviously, since Harry Potter is evil according to Pat Robertson, this must be code for "Evil and the Evil Evil."

But what about Eve? Since God created life and said it was "very good," certainly she can't be evil? But wait...Eve was a woman. MATH TIME!!!!!!

Money=The Root of All Evil (postulate)
Women=Time(Money) (postulate)
Time=Money (postulate)
Women=Money2 (substitution)
√Money=Evil (reminder)
√Money=Women (substitution)
Women=Evil (substitution)

Therefore, according to Pat Robertson and math, Halloween= All Evil Evil.

There can be no argument.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

False. According to Redemption Jeopardy, the root of all evil is the LOVE of money.  :P

Although, I love that equation.

You got it a little backwards. The root sign should be on the Evil side of the equation, not the Money side. Otherwise it doesn't work out correctly mathematically.

Thank you, I appreciate it. You said exactly what I was hoping the response would be.

I believe Halloween is a very unChristian holiday, and several other people have said the same. That should be enough for it not to be discussed on a Christian board. I don't want an argument.

I believe that sports and video games are very unChristian. Sauce and Caleb will probably agree with me for the lulz. That should be enough to ban talking about them on a Christian board  >:( >:( >:( (smells like tacos)  >:(
