Message board ranking

Might be an odd question but how do you move up in rank on the message board. I have been playing for 12 years but never been active on the boards until now. I feel like a rookie to the game being a junior member.  ;)

Ranking is completely irrelevant. It's basically just to determine who spams posts more.  At certain post counts you'll get another star, but there are titans of the game with only 1 star because they just don't post a lot, and there are complete noobs who have 5 because they've been around forever and/or post frequently.

(I belong to the latter).

Thanks for the info! Honestly, I have always had minions who are really active on the boards and one guy in our play group is the rule nazi and on the boards a lot so I have not really had a need to be. :) I have just started trying to get active.

100 posts,  jr. Member 2 stars
250 posts, full member 3 stars
500 posts, sr. Member 4 stars
1000 posts, hero member 5 stars

Beyond that is up to rob and/or reyzen

Westy is correct. For example, I'm only a Junior member, however I'm the most respected board member by a long shot.

The ranking system to the left doesn't mean a lot. What is actually meaningful are the numbers to the right - a quantity known as respect.

In transport phenomena, the physics gets incredibly complex. It's pretty much impossible to predict things that happen in there. So complex, in fact, we just guess what an equation looks like by looking at the units, determine a coefficient using some advanced math I don't understand, and then multiply it by some variable that lets us fit this equation to empirical measurements. An example of this is the use of the friction factor in fluid transport.

Respect is analogous to this friction factor. You use it to determine many things: how other board members view you, how much you contribute to the boards, your skill at Redemption, and your sense of fashion.

Back when the respect stats were public information, Minister Polaris and I had the most by quite a wide margin. This means he and I are the best board members. I don't know how it has changed by then, but I'm certainly not on top anymore.

Also, if you are a host, you can message one of a couple of people that they will change your name so people will know who to look for for games.

I would be significantly more active on these forums if respect was made public again.

As would I. Gotta defend my bottom spot.
An unanswered question is infinitely better than an unquestioned answer.

I doubt there's a way to do this, but it'd be really cool if they just showed top rated posts and not users. Less abuse that way.

If I want to do that I'll just go through Daniel's search history.
