I am not sure how you married folks find time for Redemption!
I play late at night after my wife has gone to bed :)

And congrats on your Christmas present!

Thanks! Have you ever found it problematic in your relationship that you wake up to do something during the night while your wife is sleeping? I think you have told me you don't need much sleep though - so I imagine if it wasn't Redemption it would be another thing anyways.

You are right that I don't sleep much, and often I'm using those late night hours for things besides Redemption like grading papers or watching Dr. Who.  As for causing problems, it used to when she'd wake up and I wouldn't be there and in her half-asleep mind she'd be worried about whether I was OK.  But we've been used to it for a long time now, and actually it's currently really helping her out.  My youngest kid still struggles to get through the night without wetting the bed.  So when I stay up until the middle of the night, I am able to take him to the bathroom before coming to bed, and then he wakes up the next morning dry.  That saves my wife having to get up in the middle of the night because he's crying and wet.

I used to do grading after midnight as well. This is not problematic if your wife understands and trusts you. My wife understands because that is the only time it is quiet in my house with two young children. The trust factor is one that has to be earned over time, or re-earned if you did something to ruin it. A woman who has been burned in the past will need time and patience from her husband before she can sleep comfortably while he stays awake, especially if he is on the computer.
My wife is a hottie.
