Characters that you don't particularly care about.
Very true.  I am expressing my personal opinion here, and I'm sure there are some who care very deeply for the characters in Romeo & Juliet.  Of course there are also a decent number of people who believe they have been abducted by space aliens.  I really don't understand either sentiment :)
Well, having a personal bias against the characters prevents you from making an objective analysis of the play.

Are you telling me you never have a bias?

I read the play just like everyone else.  I had no pre-conceived notions of what Romeo was like until I read his thoughts, words, and deeds.  Then based on that, I decided that I didn't care about his character.  My ability to critique the thoughts, words, and deeds of a literary character has nothing to do with my ability to analyze the play objectively.  In fact character criticism is part of objective analysis of literature.

My analysis is just as objective as the next person.  But thanks anyway for trying to move the discussion away from the lameness of the play to the personal attack of my objectivity :)

Yeesh, all I wanted to do was share my art with you guys.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I liked Romeo and Juliet, except for the end where the cast all comes back out for a curtain call singing "Lovefool" like a vaudeville song.
