I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5880, and it has a bar on the front that I need to slide in order to open the laptop. That little plastic sliding bar broke, and that makes it very difficult to use my computer. I would like to replace it, but I don't know how. (The rest of this post is pretty much a rant, but it may also be a preview for my new book, Boy and Planet, so maybe you should read it anyway.*)
Maybe I'm just stupid, but I've looked all around the internet and I CANNOT figure out how to replace parts for my laptop. I can find stuff on what to do when the screen gets high, or when I give my computer a bath, or when a baboon picks all the keys off my keyboard and replaces them to form obscene words, but apparently no one has the same little problems as I do.
I tried to find some kind of part number for the part that broke. I figured there might be some kind of diagram in the manual or something. However, I lost my copy, so I was trying to look for it online but couldn't find it.
I almost called a support number that I saw, but the context of said number referred extensively to phones and such, so I decided against it, and I haven't been able to find another promising number.
I'm at a loss now. I want to figure out how to do these kinds of things on my own someday...
*After writing that I realized some might actually take it seriously, so...don't do that.
