Cactus Game Design Message Boards

A few of my players (including my son) had tried a couple times to make a T2 deck, but they became very frustrated with remembering to declare the LS, and wasting time and cards when they forgot to.

When just starting with T2, it's not a huge deal to declare the LS once the battle gets to that point (either the rescuer wins the battle or the defender wants to do something to get rid of the LS). It's not an easy habit to get into when switching over from just playing T1. 

The experience left a very bad taste in their mouths, and they have had no interest in trying it again.

Maybe if I can make it down for a visit sometime, I can help out. If they already like playing with slightly larger decks then I would guess they would enjoy being able to use multiples of their favorite civilizations cards. 

That would be a lot of fun, it's always been a goal of mine to visit different playgroups when I'm traveling. I went to the FL state tournament many years ago and met up with some of Bryon's playgroup in CA a couple years ago.

Maybe it'll just take having a guy like you to bring some fresh fire to them.  You could be the encouragement they need to restart their playgroup.  I know they are both very creative when it comes to recruiting players.  They're just a bit discouraged after their first round of recruits didn't last.  They just need someone to help them decide to give it another try

'twas a sad set of circumstances with that lot...  No one could have predicted the unfortunate turn of events!  Things were going well, numbers were growing strong... all until 'it' happened.  The attrition rate was high... their forces were outnumbered! They fought to the death; every last one of them until none remained but their fearless leaders.  The bloodshed was great and the body count was high... there are even tales of great sacrifice and heroics... maybe even a few legends spawned from the great incident all the way until the final reckoning.  I have heard the Delarosas received PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as a result of the carnage.  Apparently none of the recruits survived and the ensuing depression that followed the loss of so many young, innocent lives... let's just suffice it to say it's always a dark day in Redemption history when comrades' lives are lost... due to life itself.

Unfortunately, no, not that I know of... I work nights Wednesday through Sunday so the Delarosas are still the only two... Spicy has been side-tracked with school and our blonde, forever 12 step-child... I'm not sure what his situation is.  The Fellowship has broken and Frodo decided to take a vacation.  I just wanted to check in on the community and see what has happened since my life got flipped, turned upside down and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became the Prince of the Air! 

We have a small group two to three people in the fort myers area. We haven't done much playing lately due to waiting on the new cards.
