Read it. Felt that CP showed his immaturity as a writer in it. Thought it could have been better, still was pretty good.

LotR Jr. If you're going to read a fantasy, just read LotR. If you've read that too many times, read the Albion trilogy, the Pendragon Cycle, the Wheel of Time, or the Sword of Truth (skip the second-to-last two books, they're awful).
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Read it and loved it. Didnt enjoy the ending but thats no surprise. It was left opened ended because CP is planning on during more books related to the setting and characters. Honestly, I found it a little predictable but I liked the predictability.

If you have the book, can I borrow it?

I thought Brisingr was really good, how does this compare?

Like katedid loved it until the ending, which I hated with a burning passion because of how stereotypical it was. I guessed almost everything that happened in the book before it even came out. I'm excited for more though it he makes it.

It actually was really slow in the beginning and didnt pick up til page 500. You could tell her wasnt planning on writing this book because there was a lot of stuff crammed in quickly at the end that should have  been more detailed. Like I would have cared if it had been another 200 pages to flesh out ending ideas

Before Book 3: PSYCH! IT'S GOING TO HAVE FOUR BOOKS IN THE SERIES!!!
Before Book 4: PSYCH! IT'S GOING TO HAVE FIVE BOOKS IN THE SERIES!!!

Or just an extra large book, but knowing Paolini, he would have just made another book.

He's is most likely making more as it said in the acknowledgments. It definitely needs a fifth if not more because the ending really was not great.

From what I understand, the 5th book written would be the same setting but different characters. It sounds like the 2 women Eragon blesses in the 3rd book would play a part in it.

I heard it was all the same characters except Eragon and Saphira. I think CP wants to do something with the new rider and dragon.
