Ideas for the game

Me and a friend have been trying redemption and we though it was a little slow of a game.(We play(ed) Yugioh, it's fast)
So I thought it would be cool to see more search cards and stuff, Also the decks seem inconcient due to being allowed only one of each effect card per deck. The Cards are also kind of hard to find, it would be cool if they would come in Kmarts or such.

You'll be glad to know that there actually are quite a few search cards for the game, as well as drawing cards that help you get through your deck faster.  Only allowing one copy of each card per deck is actually nice in that it makes decks less similar than they would be otherwise.

As for buying cards, you are totally right that they are difficult to find in stores (except for some Christian book stores), but you can order anything that you like online from here.

I've never played Yu-Gi-Oh or any other CCG, so I don't know how it compares in length. I would bet the average Redemption game in tournaments is about 30 minutes long, so I guess if that is slow by comparison, then Redemption is a slower game. I personally think that's part of the appeal: I enjoy more complex games, which most often take more than half an hour, but I guess it's up to your preference in that aspect.

There are actually two types of Redemption (T1 and T2, with T1 being the most commonly played). In T2, decks are bigger, and can in general have up to 5 of each card with a special ability (with some other restrictions). However, T2 games also typically take longer (up to 60-75 minutes) so that may not be up your alley.

It would be awesome if Redemption was more available and sold in more stores, unfortunately, compared to other CCG's it has a much smaller player base, and is run by a much smaller company. The only way for it to be sold in KMart/Walmart/Target etc. would be for Cactus to convince them it would be worth it. It would not really be up to Cactus at all, but up to the retail chains. I am fairly certain that Rob Anderson (publisher of the game) would be more than happy to distribute to the larger chains, but it's really not up to him. However, in addition to Christian Bookstores (the primary sellers of Redemption cards) there are independent sellers (Chris Bany of covenantgames.com, Ken Locklin of ThreeLionsGaming, etc.) and you can order directly from cactusgamedesign.com. The prices online are comparable to the retail prices you would find in most stores, and there are often special deals available on the websites.

Either way, welcome to Redemption and the message boards; I hope you will find that one of the greatest advantages Redemption has over almost any CCG is the strong community we have here. If you have any questions, feel free to post them on the boards.

Yu-gi-oh can play about 3 games in the 45 mintues time constraints of Redemption Tournaments.

Yeah, I think one of the BIGGEST reasons redemption is slower is the lost soul mechanic. With Yu-Gi-Oh, if you can attack, then theres nothing holding you back except for whatever defense the opponent has.
