Women were important in the Gospels (and throughout the Bible).  This is somewhat surprising considering the time and cultures where the Bible took place, but not at all surprising considering the heart of God.

I think it's awesome that they were so important.

From my understanding of early church history there were times when the women outnumbered the men by a significant amount, possibly due to having more rights in the church than anywhere else in the Roman Empire.

But I would suggest looking that up yourself if you want to know more as I am not an expert.

Christianity is really the only way of life ever in the history of the world that values and honors women.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

True, but I would also argue that they were just as valued (by God) under the Law of Moses.  See Proverbs 31 for example.  The problem with the Jews is how they treated their wives, but it was not the fault of the Old Law.

My use of "Christianity" was not meant to preclude the old law pre-Christ.

Wonderful.  We are in total agreement then :)  Thanks for clearing that up.
