I liked each of the three films better than most. For one thing, I actually enjoyed watching Palpatine manipulate so many circumstances throughout all the films in order to put himself into position to create the Empire. Each of the SIX films, really, had progressively better lightsaber fights than the last: Ep I with Darth Maul was better than anything in the old films, and the big fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan was the most amazing display of lightsabering ever.
Ultimate irony of the new trilogy: the most poignant moment between Anakin and Padme came when the two of them were staring out their windows, she from her apartment to the Jedi Temple, he from the temple to her apartment. The scene was tense with emotion, and they're separated by miles and have no dialogue. Maybe they should have spent the whole trilogy like that, they would have been more epic than Bogie and Ingrid.
