I looked into it at one point but had nobody to play with and haven't ever done a Pencil and paper RPG.

Greetings,
I play Holy Lands online at RPOL.net, we have about 10 members playing there, with a total of four active games at the moment. There is also the Holy Lands Face Book page that has 70 or so members that discuss the game and put up supplements and ideas.
I have my own home based game, we have been playing about once a week for a year and a half, I have 5-6 members, and it is a lot of fun to have an alternative RPG to D&D.
The main thing to remember is it is not a D&D clone, it is a separate game altogether. And as mentioned elsewhere in these threads, it is very different than DragonRaid. I also have Testament, but since I am currently comfortable with the Holy Lands system it would not make much sense to switch. I definitely mine those others for materials though.
I am not the creator but I do have his permission to distribute the "Light Edition" which is what I have done on the Scrib'd site (along with all of my supplements and house rules).
If you have any questions about Holy Lands I can answer them. Or if I can't then I can make up a pretty decent answer.
Thanks

Oh yeah, we are always welcoming new players.
Matter of fact we have a new game for beginners that is in need of a new character.
http://rpol.net/game.cgi?gi=24987&date=1318359440
Try that link, it may regulate you to the main page, but once you register (it's free) you just do a search for Holy Lands and then at the bottom of the main Holy Lands page you will see a "Request to Join" link, hit that and me or another mod will get you in.
Then you just introduce yourself, and game on.
The game your looking to join if you want to start with the basics will be "Hellions Hallow", but really any active game on there is a good one to join.
The main game just ended part one and will start part two in NOV, then there is another big one that is going to be ending soon. And three or four others that are ongoing at the moment.
But yep, you are more than welcome to join in, tell others so we can get several games with different players.

I will start an adventure shortly if you all want.
After you get registered and are on the Holy Lands forum, just message "Malic" and I will get you squared away. Been real slow lately so I would live to have some new guys to play with.
Let me know when you get there and we will get something up and running.
Thanks,
Tim

Yes, technically it is no different than this boards set up, but there is some other functionality like a dice roller, and a few other things.
But it is all online. If you have never played Holy Lands then download the books (the e-compilation is a big one but it includes every printed HL book there is) and register. If you have played then great, if not no worries, we were all new to the system once and all on the site are christian men (well with the exception of my wife who just joined a few weeks ago), so don't be afraid to ask questions.

Well I can't guarantee that I'll be able to play. My wife and I have a 6 week old at home....so time might not be on my side. I would love to be able to play though sometime. I'm an RPG freak. Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Guild Wars, and now hopefully a christian game of Holy Lands??? Nice.

If you can't play, at least register so you can read the forums.
Or head over to the Holy Lands Facebook site and join in there. All the supplements and new stuff we develop is on there and we are always needing new material.
All are welcome.

When you go to the RPOL site, http://rpol.net in the first column you will see a link to register.
Once you are done (it sometimes takes the Admin a day to get you in), you go tot he link that allows you to search for a game.
The easiest way is to find the game thread is to make sure you select "active"games, and Holy Lands game system.
Once you find the forum then at the very bottom of the Holy Lands threads there should be a small link that says 'Request to Join". Hit that and we will get your request and you are in.
It is actually easier than my convoluted way of telling it, but unless you are completely new to the computer and net you will automatically know what you to do when you see it.
