I just mind it when I create a thread for other people to have a discussion and it gets nuked before it gets off the ground.  Then I get blamed for posting a link redirecting a duscussion to the proper place, only to have that link go dead because the thread I created is quarrantined.

Is this about the evolution vs christianity thread? Because that is still alive and well....

*EDIT* Apparently it is about that:

Someone nuked the topic before it got off of the ground.  that was not my fault.  either way, stop discussing it here.

What happened is, you posted it in Open Discussion, not Off Topic. Open Discussion has an age requirement to even see that the board exists. Two people posted that they couldnt see it, then you assumed it got nuked. Lol.

That is what it is about and evidently I posted it there and now I cannot get back into them.  So evidently I was old enough to post it there but not old enough to now see it?

I thought I posted it in off topic, but that is weird if it is still there in open discussion because now I cannot see any forum entitled "open discussion".

I think there is a glitch in the matrix.

You did post it in Off-Topic. But Schaef or some other mod moved it to Open Discussion. Why can't the younger of the boards see it? Does it have adult content?

I think there is more going on here than age related filtering, unless those of us over 26 are considered children.  I agree with crustpope, there is a glitch in the matrix.  I knew I shouldn't have taken the blue and the red pill together.  All I heard was blah blah, and my brain was like ooh skittles  ::) and I gobbled both, bad idea?

lol I added my birthday but I still cant see it.  It must be for those people older than 33 lol

btw, Schaef, it seems you or someone did this unintentionally so since the thread was not nuked, only moved to a section of the board I cannot see (but you had no idea I could not see) I am sorry for anything I said that may have seemed harsh.

Now if only I could see that part of the board....hmmm

Access to OD is not automatic, I must add permissions manually.  If a person's age is not published in their profile, unless I know them personally, I cannot verify their age to add them.  Even the persons I do know are sometimes going to fall through the cracks, because there are over 800 members on the board, and only about 25% of them have published ages.  For children, I respect any desire to retain that information as private, but the age restriction to OD means that children young enough to want to hide their age won't be getting access anyway.

The age restriction is because many controversial topics are discussed, and it was the desire of the management that we allow these discussions to go on, without also thwarting the desire of parents to have a safe place for their children to go.  Rob set the age of ascension for the board, and that is the main criterion I use.
