Don't get me wrong, elves rock - you're speaking (typing?) to one who can read and write with the Tengwar.
But hobbits are beasts. I didn't see an elf stab the Witch King of Angmar (with a sword for which the movie had no explanation of why it could do that). Or hike through Mordor. Or have a shard of a Morgul blade in them for two weeks.
Yes, elves are awesome, but hobbits are better.

Jealous. I've done some research, but the most I ever do is write my own name. In Quenya, though Sindarin would be pretty easy to figure out from there.

Yep. Hobbits rock. I've read the LOTR books, the Hobbit, and working on the Silmarrilion. It's rather difficult.

See, I can do the letters but not the actual language. Maybe we should get together  ;)

Same with me for a while. I know lots of people who breezed through the Hobbit, struggled minimally with LOTR, and couldn't get through the Silmarillion. It helps when you have lots of time to read  :P

We might as well rename this thread LOTR and move it to the entertainment section.  ::)

If you were to learn how to speak Quenyan, then it would probably be easier to write in it.

Exactly, I don't know it yet. Trying, but it's a lot easier to learn how to write (in english) by practicing using Tengwar than to go around speaking Quenyan (or more likely Sindarin, since that's the conversational language).

I've Read The Hobbit, LotR, The Simarillion and The Children of Hurin. I'm Currently working on The Book of Lost Tales.
Found The Sima to be difficult at first but easier once you get into it.

The Children of Hurin was SO good. I hated it initially, but it was a masterpiece. I need to reread that...

I actually like the new Newsboys better. Save Your Life is one of my current favorite songs. However, I am partial to Michael Tait since we were at Liberty University together, back when he was still with D.C. Talk, so my opinion is biased.

Continuing this tangent for no apparent reason...

I didn't realize Newsboys did that version.

I really hate it when people make general statements like that. What's wrong with the new Newsboys? Was it the song (which they didn't write), is it Tait's voice (the only member who's different IIRC), or did they massively change in style when Peter resigned?
Honestly, I don't see a big difference. I really didn't care for Newsboys after Thrive, and haven't cared for Tait since DC Talk, so it's not a big deal, but whatever.

I liked DC Talk's style, I liked Newsboys' old style, I don't really care that much for the combination. Old NB had a fun, sometimes silly style and I don't think this song specifically but new NB in general really has that anymore. As far as DCT goes, I liked the other singer better anyway, so there is a bit of bias there.
