I kinda likened it to the next level of the SAT/ACT. Of course I was working with my students at the time, which helped my own practicing. Number2.com was also a great help for me. I received a 650 on Math, 530 on Verbal and my writing was in the 60th percentile, which could have been better had I really worked on my essays. With those scores I was able to get into both Ohio State for my Masters as well as University of Maryland-College Park starting my doctorate this fall. Good luck!

The big problem for me is that I'm not very well versed in Mathematics. How much mathematics is covered by the test?

I thought the Math part was easy.... 

You'll do fine Colin, however I strongly recommend that you take practice tests and study. I blew it off because I was extremely busy at the time. I went in, took the test, and felt good about it. When the results came back, I scored in the 79th percentile. The problem was that the grad school I was applying to would have given me a hefty scholarship if I had scored in the 80th percentile or higher.

I took that as a message from God. I don't blow off important tests anymore. 

If you guess, choose A,C or E.
Don't repeat a letter (if guessing).
I read a book about guessing for these tests and you know what you know, but the ones you don't know can make or break it, so the book gave the above suggestions (I'm oversimplifying it).

On the GRE, they rather you answer, because you get more points deducted for skipped questions than for guessing.
