Is "hiding" possible?

Is there a way to "hide" board members?  I am reading a thread that is quite long and has a certain member posting frequently in it.  I normally just skip anything they post anyway, but it would save me time if I could just hide them completely so that I never saw their posts.  Is there a way to do that?

I go to another forum that is based on the same software, but under Profile it has an "Ignore Users settings" link which we don't have. Based on that, I'd say that the ignoring feature has been disabled for this forum.

If this is the case, I wonder why?  It seems that it would be helpful to the forum as a whole to give users the ability to ignore certain people.  Imagine how many less threads would erupt into flaming if people never saw each other to begin with.  Imagine how much time would be saved by not having to scroll past the posts that you know aren't going to add anything to the conversation anyway.

I don't see any downside to this really.  Schaef any chance you could turn that feature back on?

If we have people that can't even take it when they don't receive as many "+1"s as they'd like, it seems unlikely that someone noticing they're on 33 "ignore" lists would be a good thing.

It's an added feature, not a disabled base feature.

I installed it, just to see what happens.  Have fun.  I think ignores are somewhat private information so don't bait the trolls by broadcasting it.

On a member's profile you can see a count of how many users ignore them, but I don't think it lists their names.

Wow, Prof, You 'Cannot be ignored!"  (same deal with any moderator or administrator)  I think I have found out the real reason that you hate TGT decks  ;)

Which brings up the question of why you are advocatiogn ignoring people to begin with.....

I ignored someone who is not to be named and all it does is show that person and hide their post with a message "This person is being ignored. SO you can see they posted, but you cant see what it is.
