Wish the federal government would shut down in five minutes...
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

The good news: Not much happens for most people. There is less traffic.

The bad news: Road construction stops. Epic Fail.

I feel like these two things contradict each other as everybody uses the roads that need to be built/repaired

Have no fear. Redemption is considered one of the essential services in Minnesota and the National Tournament won't be affected by the Government shut down.

Oh, so that's what that switch is for...
Heard that the Minnesota government is shutting down in 5 minutes.... Oh no!

I've always wondered what that light switch next to the garage does... My bad.

The Minnesota Zoo is closed but thankfully they're still taking care of the animals.

Tell the Governor to check the circuit breaker.  I flipped the switch again.

Only if the shutdown lasts a month and a half. Last time this happened (2005), it only lasted a little more than a week.

Also, the Twin Cities is only an hour and a half drive from the Iowa border (along I-35), and only a half hour drive from the Wisconsin border (along I-94). I'd hope people can hold it for that long...

It's my understanding that all nine budget bills were passed by the legislature in May, but vetoed by the governor on the final day of the session, leaving no time to revise the bills to his apparent satisfaction.  Combined with his refusal to call a special session to push through any spending measures, I'm confused by his statement in that article that he was more flexible in the negotiation process.
