free online backup?

im buying a new laptop, and i was wondering if there is some online tool that would allow me to back up the contents of my hard drive so i can transfer them to my new laptop. im trying to avoid buying an external hard drive to do so. do i have any other options?

after downloading the dropbox thing, it appears that i can only save 2gb worth of content. :( i have about 200gb of content to back up...does anyone else know any other options?

You don't want to go to an external HD? That leaves you pretty high and dry. a lot of sites offer that much storage, but I don't know of any that are free. Mozy is probably the cheapest. unlimited storage for 4.95.

Yeah, it has a limit, so you would have to move a little, then delete it, then move a little more.  Kinda annoying, but cheap!

i would just a drive and then back up the laptop once a week and store the drive 1 floor or two above where the laptop is just in case somthing happens to the laptop...the most you lose is a week or two of infomation.

Personaly i back up about 1 TB of info, every 3 days wiith this system.

Try box.net or idrive.com for a free option, but I'd also recommend Mozy over an external, as they have offsite + redundancy going for them.
