Colin's point is that the rapture is not a biblical concept. It goes along wiht my dispensational question.

I'm sorta near you Colin. I can't deicde between amillenial and pseudo-rapture midtribulation.
Yeah, well Colin made a pretty poor point.

Ok, then explain how the rapture is biblical. At all. Because it isn't. It has one verse, maybe.

So since "Thou shall not kill" only has one verse..it doesn't apply?

One verse, MAYBE. Please finish the reading. And Thou shalt not kill has various other verses supporting the conclusion of it plus various stories, etc. Please just tell me hwo teh rapture is biblical wihtout using 1 Thessalonians. You can't. And even 1 thessalonians is shaky.

I don't believe a pre trib rapture will occur a la Left Behind.
I was really only defending that the rapture was going to happen...because it is.

"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other."

I wasn't raised with a bias or anything like that, just raised on fundamental beliefs of Christianity.

Um yeah, that's not describing a "rapture", ala Left Behind. That's describing the Second Coming of the Messiah at the end of the Great Tribulation. There is no "rapture" according to the Scriptures. That's a doctrine invented by the Jesuits in the 1500's and popularized by some random chick claiming to be a prophet in the 1800's. As Janissary said, there is MAYBE one verse that even sounds like it could possibly be describing a "rapture" as defined in Left Behind, and that's stretching it, considering it can easily be interpreted to just be talking about the Second Coming in general, rather than a separate "secret second coming". You probably don't want to be basing your theology off of such speculative and questionable doctrines. There's going to be a LOT of disappointed believers come the Tribulation, methinks.

I may not agree with Janissary and Colin on much, but this we definitely agree on.

That is actually describing a rapture.  What's your basis that it's not?  We'll be getting out some way or another, will we not?  Just because you think "rapture" is a non-biblical name for it doesn't mean I can't use it.  It's the same thing.

At least, that was MY understanding of the word rapture, that he was going to take us sometime.  I personally beleive he'll take us before the tribulation, but hey.  You have a right to beleive otherwise too.

If you want to call the return of Messiah at the end of the world and believers meeting Him "the rapture", I have no problems with that, other than the fact that it will confuse people, because that's not the common definition of the term "rapture". Most of Christianity believes that at some point before or during the Tribulation, Christ will come back in the clouds for His followers, and then come back a SECOND "second time" at the end of the world to nuke all the bad guys. I believe in only ONE Second Coming, and that's the nuking the bad guys part, at which point the believers will also meet Him in clouds.

All the Scriptures are describing the same event. There are not two Second Comings. There is only one, and it happens at the end of the world. Nowhere in Scripture does it promise believers that they will miss the Tribulation, either.

I'll ask again: Really? A quick Google search seems to only bring up uninformed panickers, and even then only as a question ("Is Obama going to remove...?"), so unless you can back that up at all, I strongly strongly doubt that.
