Early church vs persecuted churchl

I am going to buy either a early church box or a persecuted church box (when they all come out and are released). The main purpose for doing this is to gain enough resources to build a clay team deck. So this pulls me to the question should I get the early church box (also need a shipwreck) or a persecuted church box when it comes out? Which would be more useful toward building clay team deck?

I'd go with The Early Church.  The playtesters designed it to be the "foundation" of the Clay brigade.  From what I've seen spoiled so far from The Persecuted Church, it looks like they are developing some new Clay themes, but it won't have much potential for "Clay splash" heroes like Peter, Cornelius, Barnabus, Aquila/Priscilla, Stephen, etc.  Also, TEC will have a lot more usable (due to being unthemed) Clay enhancements like Elymas Struck Blind, etc.

Personally, I'd go for The Persecuted Church. I felt like The Early Church reprinted a lot of cards that didn't need to be reprinted. TPC however seems to have lots of reprints of the old cards that had no special abilities at all.

I'm not saying that TEC is bad though, because it certainly isn't. I just think TPC is better.

Why not do a mix? A box is 24 packs. You could do 12/12 or weigh it a little heavier towards EC.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

You can split a box? Or are you suggesting to buy separate packs?

Separate packs.

It would really depend on what theme you want to go with in Clay. I think Clay/Disciples would work very well for a TEAMS deck and in that case you would want to get TEC because you want Peter, Matthias, Reassuring Angels, etc.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?
