Dear Internet

I have two questions:

1. Rate the Catan expansions (Seafarers, Cities, Bandits) and tell me which one I should get first.

3. Is there a way I can get (*Fin) by Anberlin without getting the whole CD or stealing it?
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

3. I have no idea, sorry.

1. I have not used Bandits (didn't know it existed) so I can only comment on Cities and Seafarers. Definitely get Cities and Knights first, it's the easiest to add to the base game. I also have Seafarers and while it does add some interesting changes I've only used it once when playing Catan with my usual group (my sister and brother-in-law). My sister just doesn't like Seafarers for some reason (I like it, though, for the ships and the resource crunches you sometimes have to deal with which separates the people with skill from the people who just spam the 6 and 8 slots). No matter what, though, I would recommend getting one, playing several games to get used to it, and only then buying another one. If you try to use 2 new ones at once it's almost impossible since they sometimes override each other's rules. That's why it's best to master one before adding another since then you can better understand the rule mergers.

Amazon.com lets you buy single songs. Just search for the cd you want and then scroll down a little. Also iTunes too.

Wow, Amazon is charging 1.99 for just that one song.  That's ridiculous.

Fin on iTunes is album only.  Amazon seems to be the best place, even though it's $2.  Fail Amazon.

If it was available on lala, I would have recommended it.  Check it.

Actually, I found it for $.99 on iLike/Myspace.  Here ya go:

I actually like Starfarers of Catan, the standalone version that's Catan... IN SPACE. I played Traders & Barbarians yesterday and it was okay, but as far as Catan goes I like it IN SPACE.

Hey,

1. Rate the Catan expansions (Seafarers, Cities, Bandits) and tell me which one I should get first.

It depends on what sort of people you play Catan with.  Cities and Knights adds the most complexity to the game.  If you play with people that like complicated games, that's probably the best one.  Traders and Barbarians (I assume that's what you mean by bandits) is really a lot of little expansions in one box.  If you play with people that like to learn and try new games that one is probably the best (also the Fishermen of Catan version in Traders and Barbarians is brilliantly awesome).  Seafarers is the simplest expansion, so if you play with people that like the simplicity of Catan, then Seafarers is a good choice allowing you to keep the game simple and add some variety.

Tschow,

Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly
