I was reading about their bankruptcy situation today. Under the Chapter 11 restructure it looks like the US and Canadian Governments, the Auto Union and Fiat will all have some stake in the company.

What do you think will happen to Chrysler in the future because of this?

From the US Government stake: It will take twice as much gas to go anywhere, and Chrysler owners will have to pay twice as much per gallon.

From the Canadian government stake: Repairs will be free, but there is a 10 month waiting list and you don't get to choose your mechanic.

From the Auto Union: The car will shut down and stop running for ten minutes at two hour intervals.

So that leaves Fiat. Italian cars statically need the most repairs of any country. That means Fiat is just there for the other 3 to blame when the car breaks down.

Or to create a good excuse to make  "important business trips" to Italy to "discuss" the things that auto makers and governments "discuss" together.   ::)
