User Poll: the "front page" portal

This has been in place for a few months, but was taken down briefly to accommodate the Christmas theme for a few days.

I like having a place where several things can be seen at a glance, including the event calendar, articles posted for the new sets (especially for people using themes that don't see the added menu buttons), etc.

But what do you all think?

I don't use it, but I don't mind it being there.  Seems like it would be helpful for visitors.

It's really useful during peak hours when a lot of posting is going on. I voted yes.

ah, i thought this was the same as the sidebar. i would have voted 'i dont care' instead, as i dont use it, but i dont mind it being there.

i think it was removed first to guage reactions to it and garner a more impartial vote. how would you know you truly like it if you dont know you would truly miss it? :)
