This is a thread for Legends and what you think that everyone who sees them actually see. and any personal expericnces that you might have had. I got this idea watching a TV series called Finding Bigfoot and another called Lost Tapes.
This is up to any legend from around that world that you have ever heard of even.

I thought I heard one time that the family who first "discovered" Bigfoot had finally admitted that they made the whole thing up.

This is generally my view on all such things (that they are hoaxes), and that would apply to Crop Circles, UFOs, Loch Ness Monster (although that might possibly have been a leftover dinosaur), Roswell Alien Landings, Abominable Snowmen, etc.

So you think that almost all legends are Hoaxes?

Basically yeah for modern legends.  I believe that most old legends (Robin Hood, King Arthur, Saint Nicholas, Romulus & Remus founding Rome, Alexander the Great and the knot, Odyssyus and the Trojan Horse, etc.) were probably based on some events that actually happened, and then changed over the centuries of retelling.

I'm just really skeptical of modern urban legends and conspiracy theories (JFK assassination, Moon landing, 911 inside job, Obama's birthplace, etc.).  So I check stuff on Snopes.com a lot, and don't buy into almost anything that sounds too weird to be true.

The basic idea is that they guy who was arrested for shooting JFK wasn't really the shooter (or at least wasn't the only shooter).  There are different theories behind who was really responsible (usually involving the mafia in there somewhere).

Dude did you know we didn't actually land on the moon. That was footage created in a Hollywood basement. Look at the flag it blowing like there is wind, but there is no wind on the moon.

Also Hitler was found in a hidden bunker in 1978 and they excommunicated him to a forest in chile where he lived off monkey dung and dew off the leaves.

I'm a pretty big fan of cryptozoology, but mostly in the marine vein. Bigfoot/Skunk Ape/Yeti/Wautunga are either dudes in suits or normal animals view through beer goggles. A third possibility is that they're not animals at all, but that gets into another subject entirely.

It gets worse i heard one where the international banking cartel ordered a hit on him because who would eliminate the federal reserve.  Then they had that kid shoot at Ronald Reagan to scare him out of backing the gold stranded.

I thought you were serious when you were talking about the moon landing fake. There are people out there who make a pretty convincing case for it being a fake (backward shadows, waving flag, radio problems). But the fact of the matter is the flag would look like it was waving because of it shaking when it was jammed into the ground causing the flag pole to shake and end up in a wave-like position, then Backward shadow photos were faked, The "stage-prop" pictures were for the most part faked too, and the radio footage was from device inside the helmet, the video footage was taken by another astronaut. So now if someone comes up to you saying it was all a fake, you can prove them wrong and tell them how it actually happened.

Also there was an entire Mythbusters episode dedicated to showing that a) The main arguments against it are wrong and b) that there is actually a fair amount more convincing evidence that we did.

I don't want to go into too many details, (and I do think most people reading this don't think the moon landing was faked) but my favorite part was showing that not only does a flag move in a vacuum (given the motion of planting it) but the motion in the moon landing films looks essentially the same as a flag in a vacuum in a lab and noticeably different than a flag in the air (also in a lab).
If you are reading this signature, thank a physicist.
