What is the best Redemption card in your opinion?
Jude is red, Seth is blue, I like Redemption, how about you?

Son of God is really the obvious choice here, along with a handful of other dominants. I'd probably say Son of God, New Jerusalem, then Falling Away.

They're called 'dominants' for a reason, of course ;)

see I don't think SOG is the best card in the game. Sure it's a free lost soul, but it's ONE free lost soul. TGT on the other hand can be up to 5.

Son of God has one counter in the game, which nobody uses. TGT has at least a dozen, at least one or two of which see some use. Plus, obviously, TGT is countered by small-to-medium defenses. TGT is good, probably in the top 10 best cards, but I definitely don't think think it's the best.

Actually now that you cant SoG your own souls, it has a few more. NT and */4 come to mind.

FTFY.

However, TGT only works with a few heroes, and when your opponent has a redeemed LS, and if your opponent doesn't have two ECs of the same brigade. SoG works if there's an LS out* and no Altar of Ahaz. Plus, it can be paired with NJ.

*Excluding */4 & the NT Only.

Those aren't really hard counters though, at least not in the manner I meant. That's a good point though.

In all seriousness I don't believe this game has a "Best" card. If it did it would be TGT.

AOTL hands down.

It is now a SoG... but also discards their EC.

No, the fact that you posted it knowing that it would cause a problem shows that it was not a joke, but meant to cause a problem.  People need to stop with this.  The poking of the bear just to poke the bear is what is overdone.

The only reason it causes a problem is because people let it get up in their craw for no reason. I thought it was funny and I posted it. People need to back off on the goats causing issues crap.

Picture removed.
Purposefully posting a picture of a goat when you know that is not allowed.
It was a JOKE let it stand geez.
Taking the Lord's name in vain (through euphemism)
people let it get up in their craw for no reason. I thought it was funny and I posted it. People need to back off on the goats causing issues crap.
Actually some reasons have already been given, and there is another reason that hasn't been given, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.
Apparently other people didn't, judging from the -2 vote count (and I didn't vote).
Although that word isn't a cuss word, it is often considered crude language.  Not a big deal, so I'll leave it there.

Here in your last 3 posts, you have exhibited very negative posting behavior.  And yet you are upset at me.  Perhaps you should look at the log in your own eye before going after my splinter.

Geez is not taking the LORD's name in vain that's your conviction not mine don't force your belief upon me or this forum please. I'm going increasingly upset with all the uptightness and unless this place loosens up I'm going to keep on trying to loosen it up LIKE I JUST TRYED TO DO.

Geez is not taking the LORD's name in vain that's your conviction not mine don't force your belief upon me or this forum please.

That's actually incorrect.  It is a form of a minced oath (you can look it up yourself, I'm not going to link it because it contains actual language) that changes a curse or oath or otherwise un-sayable word to something "acceptable" while meaning the same thing.

Also, if something is offensive to a brother in Christ, the reaction is not "don't force that on me!", it is to be supportive.  Please see 1 Corinthians 10 for a discussion on this.

Geez is not taking the LORD's name in vain
Actually it is.  The dictionary will tell you that "Geez" is simply a euphemism for "Jesus".  Or as the Urban Dictionary puts it:
"Geez-Short for Jesus. Used by Christians who don't want to "use the Lord's name in vain" even though it's just as bad."

that's your conviction not mine don't force your belief upon me or this forum please.
I am not forcing you (or this forum) to believe anything.  In fact, I'm not even preventing you from using the word "geez".  I left it in your post.  I'm just letting you know that I'm offended by that.  And yet, I'm still talking to you in a rational and respectful manner.  Can you say the same?

I'm going increasingly upset with all the uptightness and unless this place loosens up I'm going to keep on trying to loosen it up LIKE I JUST TRYED TO DO.
The correct Christian response to rules that you don't like is NOT to break them.  I'm sure that if you think through the consequences of living life with that kind of philosophy, that you'll agree that it is a bad idea.

I kind of like how you separated them out.  I think it's foolish to try to compare some categories myself, even if I understand the argument for certain cards over SoG.

I would disagree with you especially on Site, as I think that Hormah is by far the best site.  It fits in any deck (that uses humans) and lets you bottom-deck endlessly (including a half-rescued 2/3-liner, my favorite :)).

I'd probably have a couple of other tops, but those at least I can all agree are near the top (except site ;)).

Back on topic; my bests:

Ls: FbtN - My opinion of best non-dom card. Fits into any deck, basically gives all your Heroes access to all LS, stops Hopper. Almost essential now.
Dom: SoG
Fort: TGT
Art: CoF
Site: Golgotha
Hero: AutO
EC: Manny
GE: AoC(p)
EE: Haman's Plot

Off topic:
TRYED
Spelling Lolz. ;)

SOG followed by NJ and Mayhem.  Its a toss up between NJ and Mayhem for me.  Mayhem can still change and win game without the first round play.

Nice idea with the categories.

Overall:
LS: FBTN
Dom: SOG
Good Fort: TGT
Art: SWJ (soul gen and absolute beast against uniques in t2)
Hero: Samuel
EC: ASA (T2)
Site: Golgotha (recursion)
EE: Plot
GE: AOCP

I have to say, while he posted it as a joke, it WAS on topic. He posted a picture of a Redemption card, in a topic about Redemption cards If someone really liked Abom decks, it very well may be their favorite card.

Further more, are we never allowed to post images of Redemption cards with goats on them, even if it is appropriate for the current discussion? (this is a serious question)

That wasn't his point though.  He specifically said afterwards "In all seriousness..."  He knew what it was and what would happen, not sure the problem here  :dunno:

But back on topic, I understand this alleged 'recursion' on Golgotha (never actually seen it ;)), but I have seen A LOT more use out of Hormah.  It is downright annoying, and I measure success of a card generally in how annoyed my opponent is when I use it :D
