What Drives You?

Hey, I just want to see a cross-section of what motivates my fellow Redemption players. I know for all of you, the number one answer is God, so we can skip that part and get into the specifics. I'll share mine so y'all will know what I'm looking for.

What drives me is:
-Family. My day hasn't started off on the right foot if it doesn't start with a kiss from my littlest sister, Annah. My other two sisters are talented as all mess and totally make me proud. The older of the two is so cool she hangs out with me and my friends from time to time. All of them have an excellent walk, better than mine. My dad is pretty much the coolest dad ever. Ex-musician, genius IQ, all my friends love him. We enjoy cigars together many nights a week, eat out and go to righteous stuff all the time, and play music together. My mom is super-Godly and the exact archetype of what I want in a wife someday. All of us have a fantastic relationship, and I'd do anything for them.

-Music. I'm in production on a CD, and I have digital distribution already and possibly physical distribution on vinyl. Almost all my time that isn't spent at work or with family and friends is spent either in the studio recording or writing new songs. Song is my purest form of worship, and I never feel so close to God as when I'm basking in a great song. Pretty much all of my friends are musicians, too.

-Friends. Where the other allotment of my time goes to, and who many of my songs are about. Pretty much every weekend in spent in Franklin hanging with various groups of people. If I'm ever having a crappy day/month/year, I can count on my friends to be there 100%.

-Learning. I don't consider a day to have been a good day if I didn't do something truly productive or learn something. Most of what I learn these days involves music engineering and songwriting, but I'm always happy to learn anything I didn't know before.

-Poetry. I consider myself much more a musician than a poet, but there's a ton of overlap. Y'all have probably read some of my poetry, and I'm working on a book of poetry that should get some mileage. It's all about who you know, really.

So that's what motivates me. How about you?
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Redemption - and I'm not just saying this because I'm here. Going to Redemption tournaments is my absolute favorite thing to do, because I love the people at them. And posting on these boards and working on Redemption decks is about the only thing I do for recreation besides watching movies and stuff with my Mom.

I'd like to say Friends or Learning or Family here, but I really don't have any friends, I'm sick of the remainder of my family except for my mom, and I pretty much hate school, so Redemption is basically the only thing that keeps me going.

I'm also sick of everyone except for your mom.

This thread started out braggadocios and then got depressing.

For some reason backseat drivers. Probably becuase I have my permit.

Friends no doubt. Right now my friend that I go to most is my violin. We have great discussions. Other than that, I play online games and so do some of my friends so I can talk to them alot. I have had some bad days lately and it gets me through really well.
I quite video games...it was the worst 15 minutes of my life.

Interesting you should post this now, as I am currently at a crossroads as to what it is that drives me. A few things I am sure of:

My girlfriend: She is a godly woman with a heart of gold. Incredibly hard-working, and smart (in different ways than I am--I find girls who are math/science geeks kind of intimidating, but I digress). Very family-oriented, and fun-loving. She encourages me through tough times, of which I have had a lot lately. I have been praying hard about options for the future, and seeing as how God has blessed our relationship so far, and He hasn't told me otherwise, I definitely foresee a ring on her finger someday: purchased by me of course.

My family: My family is really cool. My brothers and I have always been great friends, which is awesome, because I know from observation/stories that that is rarer than one would think. My sisters are also cool, and I can't wait to see how God will use their many artistic talents in the future. My parents are very supportive, and have been able to be great examples for all six of their kids.

My friends: To be honest, I don't have a lot of friends that go beyond the "Facebook Friend" level. But most of the ones I do have are super close, and I would take a bullet for them easily. Especially the guys who have been in my Bible study for the past seven years.

School: This is the one that has been weighing on my mind. Good performance in school has always been important to me. My ability to do well academically has always helped me cope with my inability to do well in other areas, particularly sports. Lately however, that force has been dwindling. I still strive to be the best, but I am having trouble finding joy in what I'm doing. I'm certainly not going to quit what I'm doing now, 7 months away from two bachelor's degrees. The biggest issue is Grad School. I have been encouraged since freshman year to go on to get a Master's degree after graduating, but more and more I feel like that is not something I want to do. So school is definitely driving me, but I'd say it's driving me crazy more than anything.

Anyway, that's a snippet of my life. I suppose this could go in the prayer forum (the last part) but the question was asked here.

Wow... way to hack a thread guys. But STAMP that was legitimately funny.

Family, friends, God, music. That's what drives me most.

With me, the thing that drives me the most is music. I always have my music wherever I go. Everybody asks me if something is wrong if I don't have it. I'm not saying that nothing else  drives me, but nothing else drives me as much as music. Right now, I write songs for fun and sing even though some people say I suck. But IDC!!! I do it because I love it. XD
