You drive behind an Impala LS and think about a Lost Soul.

True story from my commute to work. Please share your own nerdy moments. :)

You drive behind a vehicle with the license plate ***-TGT and think "The Garden Tomb!".

I've also seen a couple ***-LFG.

Last Sunday my pastor mentioned Cyrus in his sermon, and my immediate thought was why there wasn't a Cyrus card in Redemption. I then started to think of what brigade he would be, and what SA he should have. Of course, I did miss the entire rest of my pastor's sermon as I was pondering the possibilities.  :o

There's this guy from Iowa that I see occasionally who is a dead ringer for Adonijah...but I tend to think of Redemption for other reasons when he is around, not really sure why... ::)

For me it's not so much that I see things that remind me of Redemption, rather, I'll be driving somewhere and start thinking about a deck idea, and before I know it I'm not even close to going the correct way to where I am going. Such as on Saturday when I thought about ways to convert Matt and My 2nd place Teams decks to 1st place Teams decks on my way home, and went on a nearly 20 minute detour...

At my church's Sunday night services lately, we've been reading through Judges. When we were going through Ehud's story, I thought "Hey! I have him in my Redemption deck!"  :D

I'm sure we have enough stories like this to start another fun thread. Unrelated to Redemption, my mind wandered as I left my friend's house in Boston to drive home to New Hampshire, and I ended up in Maine. That was a slightly longer detour.  ;)

Back on topic, though, my son recounted one night at Youth Group when the Youth Pastor rhetorically asked, "Did you know that Goliath had a brother?" My son was quick to raise his hand and mention them by name.  ;D

I was doing Bible Trivia with some kids at the camp I work at, and I was on one team while the girl I'm dating (who attended Rosedale Bible College for two years and has an associate's degree in Youth Ministry) was on the opposite team. I won quite handily, and my favorite question was, "Whose vineyard did Ahab covet?" I was 99% sure I knew the answer, but tried to find it to double check, and when time ran out I just blurted out Naboth. Turns out all my time spent browsing brown brigade cards paid off.

These 2 stories are why I think a team of Redemption players could win America's Bible Challenge.

Is that still going? Because that is totally true. There was a Bible Trivia challenge on the radio at a Christian Radio station booth at the MN State Fair several years ago. Our team was Justin, Jonathan and I along with Soundman and his sister (and maybe Britta, but I have to think she may have been a bit young yet). I don't think the other team ended up scoring at all.

People still don't believe me right away when I tell them there is a story in the Bible of a guy who daggered a King who was just doing his business, and that the King was so fat the dagger just sunk in...

I thought I saw that there is/was a season 2.  I could be wrong though.

This is one story that I frequently tell my teens/quiz them on.  Mostly because of Ehud being left-handed and I'm left-handed, but it is a pretty unique story.

I completely remember that. I recall us answering questions about a guy who got his hair stuck in tree branches (Absalom) and the guy who asked the question "What is truth?" (Pilate).

...and why I stay interested in Redemption in the first place.  :)

...and, yes, even when I've quit for the umpteenth* time.
